The two episodes sure gave a mighty fine start for the S4, but was there anything a philosophical mind could grasp at? Surely there was - it's just a question of imagination.

Twilight's identity crisis seems like one valid starting point. The dichotomy of Princess and Friend is a school book example of particular/universal divide, or, framed in political language, an example of the clash between public and private sphere. But how is the topic handled in the series? To what theoretical background does it fit into?

I thought about writing an essay about this on my spare time. Please, throw some ideas at me.
