Hello there. If you're reading this, you have either been exclusively invited by FrostBite, or you have stumbled upon this group page by blind chance. If you've been invited by FrostBite, you will be put on trial to be judged whether your words are exquisite and interesting enough to be considered to be among the hall of pony writers [contributor]. Many of you are thinking: Well, FrostBite, you're not a writer (or at least not a distinguished one); why do you get to decide who goes where? Well, to answer that question... I'm going to simply state "my group, my rules." But to be fair, I am actually a distinguished editor and did bring together the whole group.
Anyway, getting past all of that legal mumbo-jumbo, you are here; reading this group bio. To answer your questions as to who & why we exist, I'll do a neat ol' Q&A format to make this quick.
Q: What does LoDP stand for? Who are you all?
A: Well, my little pony, we are the League of Distinguished Ponies. Hence, LoDP. We simply talk about good stories being updated / written, and like to talk about things happening in each other lives. Pretty much we're a bunch of ordinary ponies with a fancy group name.
Q: Who is in charge of the group? Who would I have to talk to get myself into this prestigious group?
A: Well, nopony is in charge of the group. Whoever is on usually hosts the chat / conference call. In order to get yourself into this group, I guess you'd have to talk to me. I control who is in the group and who gets to participate, so if you're really desperate to talk to somepony in our group... you'd have to address to me.
Q: What is required to be part of the group? What do I have to do to gain attention from the group?
A: To separate the ponies into tiers, we (I) like to look for the quality of your comments to the quality of your writing. I really don't mind much about popularity (although many of the ponies in our group are writing stories that are popular). I look for how adept you are at writing; judging whether it would be worth it to give you a shot. Well, chances are if you haven't already been hoofed an invitation to the group by FrostBite, chances are pretty slim that you will be accepted. We (I) try to hoofpick ponies to join in order to avoid any unintelligent droll / comments. If you feel that I had missed you, do feel free to put your name in the me requesting I review your bio and story(ies).
Q: What do you prefer in a pony? To what extremities would I have to go to be accepted?
A: Do not kill yourself over it. Be yourself. The one thing I'd not want is for somepony to be nervous as he talks to us. I just like to make this make this seem legit when we're really nothing special. Be who YOU are and everything will work out fine.
