In “Hearths Warming Eve”: Equestrian mythology says that Ponies froze their old continent, with ethnic hatred and out-of-control magic, before evacuating to Equestira. But what happened to the Ponies who couldn't, or didn't evacuate? Did they all just freeze to death? Or did someone come along and save them?

Say, a portal to the Human world appeared in the old continent. An anti-magic field expands from the portal, driving off the windigos and the cold, and making the continent habitable again. But for the Ponies to survive inside the anti-magic field, they have to lose their magic. They have to be converted into magicless furlesss apes.
