Hello every pony, this is where you will find a list of all the reviewers, what they will, and what they won't review, and their "in between's" Make sure to read through this list before requesting a review of your story. PLEASE.
Additional notes: I will only review certain fetishes/kinks. If you have a question if the fetish/kink is one I am okay doing, send me a PM and I'll give you a yes or no to that. More Details >>
Additional notes: Mature themes are okay but I'm hypercritical of the excessive use of gore/death/violence. If you believe you don't use those tags for shock value, I'm willing to take a look.
My name is applezombi, and I'd love to read and review your stories!
What will I review? My number one favorite stories to read are Romance. Want to catch my attention? Then send me your love stories! Fluffy SoL, Epic AU's, gothic romance/horror, heck, even sparkly vampires (). I'll eat it all up like the hopeless sap I am, as long as there's a love plot.
If it doesn't have romance, no problem. I'll give anything a shot. Just know that I'm going to prioritize romance tagged stuff over anything else.
Also, I really REALLY like reading looooooong romance stories.
What won't I review? Pure clopfics are a no, though a plot driven romance that happens to include adult stuff would be fine. Also, I am totally willing to read comedy fics, but I don't know if I'd be really qualified to comment on them appropriately. I'll give it a shot, though!
I have no interest at all in crackfics/trollfics, CYOA, or comment driven stories. Sorry. :)
Also, I've discovered that I struggle writing fair reviews of incomplete stories. I'm willing to consider stories that have completed narrative arcs, even though they may be continuing, but please don't send me early stories in their first few chapters.
What will my reviews focus on?
I'll begin my reviews with an initial impression, after my first read of the story.
On the second read, I will give a more technical breakdown on the following subjects: Characters Were the characters internally consistent? Complex? Believable? Were their motivations compelling? Setting Was the setting well described, but not over described? Did the setting play an important role in the unfolding of the story? Dialogue Was the dialogue believable and interesting? Did it help to advance the story, or were the characters too verbose? Plot Structure Did the story have a well-constructed beginning, middle, and end, with rising action, a climax, and a resolution? How was the pacing of the story? Grammar Were the story's technical aspects carefully considered? Did grammar mistakes distract from the enjoyment of the story?
Edit: I have decided, going forward, to no longer use a numerical assessment in my reviews. Instead, I will categorize the story as either Highly Recommended, Recommended, Could Be Improved, and Needs Substantive Work.
My final thoughts will include a summary of what worked and what didn't, and some feedback for how I think the story can be improved.
At the end, I intend to share what I thought were the best moments/components of the story.
I'm really excited to be able to do my bit to help out the writers out there, just like others have helped me!
Hello every pony, my name is Nailah, and, well, I have been a reviewer here for quite some time, but I figured I'd put out a new thread for what I will and won't review and what interests me most. I can't deny, as a mare, I do tend to like the stories that have fluff, romance and overall cuteness and charm. Story matters but it's even better with cuddles! (and headpats.)
What I will review. Comedy Adventure/Action Mystery/Suspense Thriller Slice of Life ROMANCE Story driven clop Crossovers (depends on the crossover.)
What I won't review. Human in Equestria. It just doesn't interest me. Comment driven stories. (no offense to those who like them.) Horror/Gore Not sure what it's called but stories that are written badly on purpose. Pure smut with no story whatsoever.
If you have questions please just ask. Also my reviews will look like this from now on.
Hello everyone, QueenChrysalisForever here! Though I have done plenty of writing myself this is my second time really reviewing things for others, but I love to help out so am ready to share my thoughts with you! I do love quite a bit of story types, and I think myself a pretty good judge of what stories are well done.
Now, onto the important stuff! How to Request Me: Well like all the rest, submit a story to my folder to be reviewed. Keep in mind the kind of things I will review though.
Things I am fine with:
Adventure
Alternate Universe
Crossover (Long as I know the thing being crossovered)
Drama
Human in Equestria (Heck many of my own stories fit here so would be Silly if I wouldn't review them! )
Romance
Slice of Life
Thriller
Dark
Sex with story to it.
Things I will consider:
Horror
Tragedy
Sci-fi
Sad
Random
Mystery
Equestria Girls
Comedy
Anthro
2nd Person
Violence (T)
Sex- just for the clop kind of stories
Narcotics
Suicide/Self-Harm
Pony Life
I will NOT read:
Gore (M)
Excessive Profanity- if it is pony swearing (ponyfeathers, Sweet Celestia, etc) I am fine with it, but real world swear words I will not do. (T) rated amounts of profanity POSSIBLY but not more than that.
Sex- certain fetishes/kinks- If you have a question if the fetish/kink is one I am okay doing, send me a PM and I'll give you a yes or no to that.
Favorite Characters: (If your story has one or more of these a higher chance of me wanting to review it. That doesn't mean I won't review it if none of them are included, just that they are ones I enjoy the most?)
Queen Chrysalis (Obviously)
Changelings (Before/After change)
Princess Luna/Celestia/Cadence
Twilight Sparkle
Discord
Gender Swapped versions of Anypony/creature
Cozy Glow
Ocellus
Sombra
Radiant Hope
So all in all what does this mean? I am okay reviewing pretty much anything. More hardcore stuff like excessive gore, detailed suicides/self-harm, excessive profanity, and certain sexual kinks/fetishes are usually a hard 'no' and if you do want me to review one of those, it better be in the top tier of such topics. I'm a pretty easy reviewer, not too harsh. Most categories I will not go below a 5/10 on as I think it very brave of anyone that comes to ask us for reviews, and just asking gives you brownie points in my book. I hope this has been helpful and that you will all send stories my way soon! Have a great day and keep writing! :D
Howdy howdy, every pony! I am the manager, representative, only employee, and sole proprietor of "We Are Reviews, SP" or "WAR" for short. If you got a story, then I got a review. Our prices are competitive: No money down, 0% APR financing, and no money actually paid. I'm practically giving away reviews!
WAR company policy: 1. No stories with red tags. Mature themes are okay but I'm hypercritical of the excessive use of gore/death/violence. If you believe you don't use those tags for shock value, I'm willing to take a look. Sex/clop is hard no. 2. Update: We Are Reviews has increased its word cap. Novelette stories or shorter will be accepted. 3. Must be complete, or a major part/arc of the story is complete. (If you plan to have a longer story, but the first parts add up to the word cap, I will still look at them). 4. This one's not a limit, but just a warning. Reviews are not for proofreading. I expect a polished work if you're asking for a review. If there are severe grammatical or spelling errors, I will rate it harshly.

What will I review? Any of the following genres:
Slice of Life

Random

Serious (look below for more details)
Any from the following warning tags:
Narcotics (ONLY IN SERIOUS CASES)
Death
Sex (ONLY IN SERIOUS CASES)

Violence
What won’t I review?
Primarily, I avoid anything related to clop (and that means themes/fetishes with this too), and foalcon. Other than that, I don’t mind as long as the more mature tags are in serious stories.
Speaking of the Serious genre, what do I mean by this?
What I mean by serious is when the sex tag (for example) is actually a vehicle to tell something beyond just the sex scene. There’s an actual story involved, and how that act of intercourse actually influences the characters and their decision-making later down the line. Point being, the sex and the other warning tags needs to have merit for it to make me want to review it.
Grammar is the mechanical composition of the story. Creativity is the uniqueness, originality of the idea, or character or story components. Characterization is the plausibility and effectiveness of the characters action, interaction, and workings. Flow is the pacing, writing style, and sense of the story. Impact is the overall impact, emotional strength, message/moral and overall effectiveness of the story.
Final Thoughts
I tend to be a very honest reviewer. Some of my critiques can be harsh, but I don’t mean to put down authors. Instead, I want authors to improve, and providing them with the necessary means to improve is a model of mine. Always strive for improvement, always be willing to learn. It’s a good standard to live by, one that will help define how you interact with other authors, and how you are outside the community.
I’m really excited to be a part of the Reviewer’s Mansion! Thank you for having me, and I hope you all will consider me to review your fics!
Hello, all, my name's Jarvy Jared. I’ve had some experience with reviewing stories, and I look forward to providing ample and adequate feedback. In a creative environment, it is important to be transparent, critical, and celebratory of work, and this kind of philosophy is what I hope to bring in my reviews. I have some background with both literary theory and criticism, so the manner and method by which I review will be far more critical.
Here is what I will consider reviewing: Will review: All kinds, with a few exceptions Will consider: Sex, if the story is not straight-up porn; Gore, if the story isn't fetishizing violence Will NOT consider: Crossovers, Humans in Equestria, Displaced Likes: Slice of Life, Romance, Drama
In previous reviews, I’ve written in the following format:
After writing the short description provided on the story's page, the review will look a little something like this:
Initial Thoughts These are given at the start, basing themselves on what the description said. They may be predictions or critiques of the description.
Summary In three to five sentences (if I can manage it) I will attempt to summarize the story with as few spoilers as possible. This number is not set in stone.
Plot - Premise, Pacing, Execution This one is the most subject to change, depending on the story. Here I will take account of the relation between what the story at first offers (its premise) and at the end, its execution of its offering. The pacing will come in the middle, and usually that's a result of analysis into how the author attempts to reach the story's conclusion.
Then there will be a Score, */10.
Characterization I will look at what the author has done with their characters, if they seem in-character or out of it, and if their reactions and mannerisms logically fit the story the author is trying to tell.
Score
Syntax - Sentence Structure, Grammar, Quality of Prose Because sentences are quietly but undoubtedly important, this section focuses on understanding the author's ability to use them. I will look at points of style, tone, diction, and other effects that come with structure. Grammar may be here as a secondary focus, but it is not my main concern, unless the issues with grammar become so apparent that reading the story becomes a chore. Quality of Prose would refer to how well constructed I felt the syntax was in relation to the story itself.
Score
Final Score is tallied, by adding up the numerators in the previous scores, dividing the amount by 3, and placing it out of 10.
Closing Thoughts This will be a summation of my thoughts, and with any other general feedback I would want to provide the author.
My reviews tend to be fairly lengthy, even for short stories. This is because I tend to do a close-reading of the various decisions and techniques within and without the narrative, regardless of the word count or number of chapters.
I aim to be critical, but also positive. It's my belief that no idea is terrible, and that every idea just needs a bit more refinement and polish. I refuse, on that principal, to grade a story below 4/10. On that same point, if a score is found to be disagreeable by the author, I welcome the chance to discuss it with them.
Please, don't be afraid - I am here to help in whatever way I can. I look forward to reading and reviewing your work!

I think that covers me. I am Short as the name implies so I don’t need much to cover me. Just a MLP blanket, a nice cold day and some fun stories. And a cookie. Maybe two. I hope to read what you have.
Greetings, I`m smokinguy, smokey for shorts. I will go straight to the point. I like to browse through the general folder and see what catches my interest, so expect that to be my main point of focus. Very importantly, I have a reaaally hard time reading and especially reviewing moderately long works, from 10K upwards (ADHD intensifies). Thus I naturally gravitate towards shorter pieces, the shorter they are, the quicker I get to them. However and do bear this in mind, even then I can take a bit to get a review out of it as I tend to really go in depth and get as much from that story as possible, even if they dont seem to have that much meat to them. Dont expect me to touch on grammar too much unless there`s a really good reason for me to do so. Also, comedy is hard, but for me they are excepcionally harder to review, for the record. So anyway, here are my do`s and dont`s:
Will do:
-Romance -Comedy -Adventure -Drama -sad -Dark -Equestria girls (among my faves actually) -Anything that is not on the dont`s
Won`t do:
-NSFW of any kind -Crossovers -Anthro -shitposts or random -Hie or displaced or similar -self insert, anon or 2nd person -works longer than 10K (Unless it reaally catches my eye, it can be extendable to 20k, try me)
As for my review format, I like to use a system of my own, called W.O.R.T.H. There are a series of elements on every story that decide its worth, and with every of m reviews i will pick the story apart to get to the bottom of what makes each one work, so as to decide its W.O.R.T.H:
Lastly, before the closing thoughts I also like to include a quick section/rundown of what can the reader get out of the story, as in what can one learn from it`s writing. But that´s only if at least one of the categories above score higher than 7. If below 5, it will be about what can the author get from the review. Contrary to the nature and name of the system, I do not like to decide the worth of a story on my own. I believe even a story that is weak on several categories can stand out on at least one, to the point it can be perfectly enjoyable. All I do is lay out all the facts about what worked, what didn`t, and let the reader decide on their own. Though I will always give an overall score for archive´s sake.
That would be all! Thank you for reading, and hope to see your works soon!
