During the royal wedding of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor, Equestria suddenly finds itself under assault from a new, unseen threat. The Elements of Harmony are nowhere to be found, and without them, the harmonious paradise of ponykind falls victim to an apocalypse the likes of which none could have seen coming.

But this is not that story.

This is the story of what happens after, when the chaos of the post-apocalypse is a distant memory discussed among the rich in their ivory towers. These towers are built on great rocky islands that float far above the unending ocean that now covers Equestria. Airships dot the skies in between, transferring wealth, ponies, and intrigue across the empty leagues that separate each island. Magic is a shadow of its former power, and precious few ponies are born with enough of it to gain their cutie marks.

This is the Equestria of the future, and it is in this world that the Elements of Harmony are discovered, miraculously living relics of a long-dead era.
