Peter Gabriel was lead singer for Genesis until he left in 1976. Collins was only drummer till he took over as the lead.

7430999
I remember Phil Collins also done the music in Brother Bear too.

how about that?

It's true. Collins did just that. Granted 'Brother Bear' may not have been among Disney's best features. But the songs themselves were pretty catchy.

Although it is funny, the film 'Tarzan' along with most of Phil's music for the feature would end up on Broadway a few years after that movie's release. Granted, it didn't have as long a run as all the other Broadway adapted Disney features but in a way it was rather 'interesting' what they tried to do with it. You almost wonder what would've happened if they decided to try it with Brother Bear.

Is anypony here a Genesis fan...

...like me?

7431594
What other musicians you're into?

7431618
I really need to make a list.

I don't really follow the band 'Genesis'. And in doing so, I wouldn't have known Phil Collins was involved until someone else brought it up. I've always been more of a Journey fan anyway.

7432914
As a Genesis fan myself I've been listening to Genesis for as long as I can remember.
From their second album in 1970 called Trespass to their second to last album in 1991 called We Can't Dance.

Then you're in luck. Paulli went through all the trouble to draw you a picture on a 'certain' Genesis member.

7434377
Witch member?

Bill?

Steve?

Chester?

Daryl?

Tony?

No, wait, is it Mike?

...It's Phil isn't it?

Just... look... at... Paulli's... picture.

I'm sorry, I was just fun in.

Okay I'll check it out.

You do that Cody T.

I'm sure you'll appreciate what Paulli was able to put together.

Here's a fun fact that some of you may find interesting. That gives an irony to this whole chronicles: the lesser know My Little Pony Tales show aired on Disney Channel. And here is Friendship Is Magic being mashed up with all the Disney Movies.

That's right! I recall that when I was a kid growing up in the 90s. Of course, we all made the assumption that it was G2 series (Even 'Let's Go Meet the Bronies' thought it was). But turns out it was part of G1 the entire time. Imagine that? Only instead of magical unicorns and flying Pegasi, most of the cast are Earth ponies and live just the way humans do. And it's plain to see it was indeed a girl's show even when they had those trio of chaps that at least a few members of the 'Mane 7' had a crush on (Some more one-sided than others).

- The Jungle Book -

- In the original Kipling stories, Kaa wasn't an antagonist. Rather, he was one of Mowgli's friends and wisest mentors and would turn to him for advice. Like the Disney version, he had hypnotic powers. He is 100 years old but seems to be in his prime.

That’s movie magic for ya

I've redesigned the Mane 7 and those three colts. Even brought in that one off male character. Their pictures are in my blogs.

7581431
Yeah I watched an old school animated movie version of it that was more loyal to the actual book in more ways than one, and Kaa was indeed a wise one

7581431
(In Shere Khan's voice): How interesting.

I hate to think Kaa was killed off in the new movie. It feels like we lost a potentially major character who could've played a more bigger role, as if having Kaa portrayed by an actress wasn't enough.

- Cars -

- Daniel Brül, who portrayed Helmut Zemo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, voices Lightning McQueen in the German dub. -
- Many of the veterans retiring and being replaced in the third film mirrors a similar series of events in real life, with many of the racer voice actors actually involved with replacing veteran racers in stock car racing. -

Dramamaster829

7728241
Yes, there is a bit of truth in that statement. It was clever what they did with the Cars feature, specifically the third film in relation to actually veterans ultimately stepping down to pave way to the younger racers we know today.

- Other Disney properties; People -

* Did you know that the late Carrie Fisher was once the wife of Paul Simon? That's right, for those who know, the Paul Simon, who was a famous singer with Art Garfunkel (Sound of Silence) and as a solo performer (They Call Me Al). Their relationship didn't last, they broke up in 1982.

Dramamaster829
Group Admin

7728852
Okay... well, that's something most of us did not really know about Mrs. Fisher. Then again, that's a 'Star Wars' deal and not so much Disney. And DON'T give me the 'Disney owns Star Wars' argument because it's going to be a bad day for you trying to convince me otherwise.

That being said, I am in fact sorry that their relationship didn't last. Some unions are just not meant to be. Believe me, I know how it's like.

7728868
That's why the title said "Other properties", as a sort of "Miscellaneous" section for anything close to Disney, but not really Disney. Star Wars fans, for their vindicated ignorance, always blame the company for anything wrong with the franchise they gatekeep.

Yeah. I read about their history. Plus finding out long ago that her mom played one of the characters in Singin' in the Rain. And besides, you're right about unfitting relationships, one of the reasons I prefer to stay a bachelor.

MarioBrony

7728852
didn't know that.

Dramamaster829

7728946
In my case, it's not so much I want to 'stay' a bachelor. I just don't want to form any commitments like I used to. Because I feel that's where it hurts the most, when I'm willing to keep my promise to always be with the girl... but they won't do the same in return. Makes me think, what was the point in doing all those things for someone (Paying for food, shows, and welcoming them in my home) only to have everything I've done thrown at my face! Makes me envious of the characters in films like 'Singin' in the Rain' who somehow make it all work despite any hardships they had.

- Disney Legends -

* James Earl Jones, the legendary voice actor of Darth Vader and Mufasa, made his debut in the 1964 Columbia black comedy anti-war film by Stanley Kubrick, Dr. Strangelove, starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott. He plays a crewman in a bomber plane.
* His father, Robert Earl, starred alongside Paul Newman and Robert Redford in The Sting (1973) as the black con man friend of the protagonists.

Hes not just a disney legend, he's a cinematic legend. His voice has been put in the annals of film and is one for the ages.

7793048
Yes, James Earl Jones has been quite a legendary figure in the world of cinema. And his voice is so recognizeable, that he's given some of the most famous characters in Disney history life. While some argue he couldn't perform the same success in the remake, he tried his best but age was getting to him.

7793412
When I watched The Sting, I thought the black guy was really James because of his deep voice, but was really his dad. No wonder they sound almost the same; He got the voice from his dad.

And he was the same man who was the mysterious Mr. Myrtle in that 'Sandlot' movie too. The kids thought he was a mean old man but turned out to be some blind guy who used to play Baseball alongside Babe Ruth.

The Great Mouse Detective
Did anyone else notice that the soundtrack to the film was composed by none other than Henry Mancini? Peter Gunn and Pink Panther Mancini.

Finding Nemo/WALL-E
The composer, Thomas Newman, also composed the soundtracks to American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit/Lilo and Stitch
Did you know that the composer, Alan Silvestri, famous for various well-known film soundtracks, also composed the soundtrack for the Super Mario Bros. movie? You know, the one with Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper?

The Nightmare Before Christmas

The main melody to the song "Making Christmas" is quite literally the Dies Irae? You know, the beginning notes to The Shining theme which is literally the Gregorian Chant that is where the Dies Irae is based from?

7806158
You're the Disney Facts guy who only cares about the soundtrack composers, are you?

Well, to be fair, I don't know 'anything' about most of these composers. But it's interesting to know what they worked on.

7806158
Thomas Newman was also a relative of David, Randy and Lionel Newman. Alfred, their patriarch, composed the 20th Century Fox fanfare and was a composer in How The West Was Won.

Mulan

- Joe Pesci (that's right, potty mouth Goodfella wiseguy Joe Pesci) was originally suggested to voice Mushu, before Eddie Murphy got the part.
- Jerry Goldsmith was a prolific composer, having scored since the 1960s, with hits like Patton (1970), Poltergeist (1982), Planet of the Apes (1968), and Alien (1979). He also did the fanfare for Universal Pictures' 1997 logo.
- Although the writers may not know it, the actual Huns are actually a genderless warrior tribe, employing men and women in the ranks. This could explain why Shan-Yu was so indifferent with Mulan ruining his plans despite being a girl, seeing her as just another soldier.
- The two guys scared by Mushu into jumping off the tower are the directors of the film.

7812199
how about that?

Dramamaster829

7812199
And China was giving Mulan a hard time for being a woman fighting in the army. But these Huns, if what is stated is true and they allowed their women to fight because they only cared of their capabilities as warriors, then they had it right about something. They didn't care about China's laws and preferred to run their people their own way.

7812206
They pick no favorites. They not only employ both genders but kill anyone regardless of their gender. Dark way of being gender equal. They were a menace to the Romans until Papa Leo had to step in.

Dramamaster829
Group Admin

7812219
So they enlist and punish equally. Truly is dark, but at least women were included. Yes, it took a while for us to permit women to fight for our own armies. But at least we're not 'as' brutal.
