This thread is for any prompt suggestions our members may have. If you have an idea for a prompt for a rare story type, please post it here.

Realistic ponies:
Relatively accurate in anatomy, behavior, and society.

You still have to explain:
Stories that back up magic with magical theory.

Expedition:
Adventure story featuring an organized expedition.

Potatoes:
Horses love 'em!

Culture shock:
Ponies who live outside of Equestria

Those were the days:
Nostalgic in theme or based on season 1-2.

Malfunctioning plot devices:
When they all fail.

Anonfilly:
Anon is a filly... again.

To contrast with the current prompt of FiE, how about a SoE?

Usually, when I see pony on earth stories, it's a "mare on earth", but what about a stallion on earth story prompt?

Outsider:
Equestria as seen by a member of one of the other races

Villainy:
Stories from the bad guy's perspective

Mythical:
The truth behind the myths

If things could talk:
Stories told by everyday objects

Secret identity:
A beloved character is not who they seem

Happily ever after:
How the story ends

Fourth wall:
Ponies that are aware they're in a children's cartoon

Another interesting one would be to see Ancient Equestria. Before the migration or just after. Or even farther back to paleopony times.

A̵͎͝ ̵̭̿f̸̦̈́ĩ̸̦x̷͍͊f̴̪͛ị̴͐c̵̓͜

-A crackship that has literally never been done. (writer's choice)

-A previous-generation MLP story (I could not participate, myself >_>)

-A story that could be an episode (family friendly, ends with a moral, nothing OOC)

-A story for a specific character who is used far less than their screen-time might deserve (Zecora, Gloriosa Daisy, Sassy Saddles, etc.)

-A human-pony married couple. Slice of life. Bonus points for stallion-woman.

-A story about pets. No dialogue. Pets don't talk.

-Humans discovering evidence of ancient pony civilization. Bonus points for a period piece.

-Not realizing you're dealing with a pony, or a human, until you actually see them. Example: a human who works at the Equestrian embassy on Earth has adopted a pony-like name for convince sake to answer the phone, because callers would be confused by a human answering.

-Like that time when Spike was drafted to be the Element of Loyalty, a random pony tries to step in and do the job of one of the mane six. The randomer the better.

-A story written in personal diary format, with context left to the reader.

The real Mane 6 and/or Princesses encounter and react to MLP:FiM for the first time.

A "day in the life" episode; one ordinary day in the life of any character who rarely or never gets the spotlight, and especially Spike.

The Mane 6 have absolutely nothing to do for the day.

Any character ship fails to happen.

Action story featuring Fluttershy as the main character.

An inversion of a popular trope, be it canon or fanon. Example: there are many vampire!Vinyl and werewolf!Octavia stories. What if it was the other way around? Or, what if the Conversion Bureau was trying to turn ponies into humans?

Stories about one of the alternate groups of the Main 6 (Shadowbolts, Canterlot 6, Power Ponies, or most recently the Evil Tree Branch 6).

Shipping Lyra and Bon Bon with anyone except each other. Same with Vinyl and Octavia.

Adventure from the perspective of inanimate objects or animals that can't talk.
