The US and other Western Powers have started announcing their support for his right-leaning opponent.

Now I don’t know much about Venezuela politics. Never really paid attention to Venezuela because as an Indonesian, Venezuela doesn’t really concern us, and as an American citizen, I’ve only heard it used as an excuse to fight socialists.

I’ve heard there was overwhelming support for Maduro’s opponent, but I’ve also heard Maduro has overwhelming support in poorer areas of Venezuela. Now the military has also thrown their support behind Maduro.

Things are heating up and I believe it will turn into a very bloody coup with the only winners being the US and its allies.

The United States of America is one of those countries that should absolutely no say in regime changes. America is notorious for toppling governments and installing puppets.

I should know, my parents lived through a 32 year US backed dictatorship in Indonesia and we’re still suffering hard from Suharto’s time of power.

I don’t want any biased answers and I will admit that I’m a leftist myself. What are your opinions of Venezuela? Who is right and who is wrong? Is it true the US had a hand in fucking up Venezuela’s economy? Who are Maduro’s supporters? What do you think will happen now the military has stood firm backing up Nicholas Maduro?

Also yes, I am a little ashamed for not paying attention to other countries’ politics. I mainly follow American and Indonesian politics.

I wouldn't know, hopefully that shit stopped after the USSR collapsed but you never know
