Culture/Society; The City-states of Man'adonia is a warrior/conquest society, where most of the 33 states are at constant war with one another for many reasons. Manadonians, or what the species named themselves; Humans believes only the strongest, wisest and healthiest are deemed to be citizens of their respectable city-state. It is both expected and transitional for males to join up as warriors for the armies or blacksmiths for their city-states, as well as agriculture and for some states, engineers, whilst females join the armies as commanders/generals, as well as in science and philosophy. Manadonians are ruled over by sovereign rulers known as Warlords, they rule with an iron hand and mostly when the pervious warlord is slain by his son, would that warlord likely declare war on his neighbouring city-states as a sign of strength. A Manadonian life is one of hardship and challenges, but yet that's the way they like it, it builds them and sharps their idea on how to live, as a honourable knight, a supreme general, a master smith or a knowledgeable scientist.

History/Background;

Rise of Man'adonia; Man'adonia's first City-State was the City of Cyntaf Hold in the north, where it was ruled by Warlord Cyfodi for 18 years. His rein was cut short because his son took over in a violent coup. The rein of the warlord's son was a tyrannical one, the proud City-State - back then the largest state in all of Man'adonia's history- separated and formed new states to get away from their warlord's monstrous rule. The three City-States of Frwydr, Saesneg and Orllewin-Gorthwr fought against the City of Cyntaf Hold for 20 years before more city-states grew from the south, east and west. During the Pre-Equestria era, Man'adonia held 14 City-States, which each city fighting a war with one another. The biggest war ever fought was Mor'grenn Wars, this war was between the City-States of Tân, Fearga, Zergk and the infamous Mor'grenn which lasted till the rise of Equestria 400 years later. During the war, when the windigos brought fourth a foul winter across Man'adonia, fear of extinction, the 14 City-States divided themselves even more to try and save their race from the winter, which is today the 33 City-States. Culturally, they is a divination between the City-States of both north, south, east and west, as all culture is a society of warriors, the methods are very different, for example the northern states believe in destroying their enemies with overwhelming force, whilst the western states believe in using siege weapons and clever tactics to win a war. Overall, from the moment the violent coup of Cyntaf Hold, endless war from the growing City-States raged until the arrival of a Manadonian with unorthodox ideas that would change the Man'adonia forever.

Rise of High King Vlotius/Bronze Covenant; As the 33 Cities war one another, a human from the City of Cyntaf Hold grew to be a fearful knight in the army, that human was Sir Vlotius. Vlotius risen very quickly from being a recruit to a bodyguard of his Warlord, the reason for it was his unorthodox ideas as well as his skills with a blade. Where most Manadonians puts their loyalty to their warlord and their City-State, Vlotius puts his loyalty to Man'adonia and only to Man'adonia. When his Warlord, Eonatal died from illness and with no heir to throne, Vlotius took his chance and proclaim himself as Warlord of Cyntaf Hold, with only a small resistance to his rule. Where transitionally a new Warlord would attack other City-States, Vlotius didn't, instead he contented three States, one from south, east and west, those were the Cities of Clocshock, Wrath-Vail and the City of Towers. Clocshock is a very industrial city, once its lands were nothing but green, now it was a land of factories. Where Equestria discovered gunpowder and used it for things like fireworks, Clocshock were one of the first people to use it as weaponry, mainly used for canons. Wrath-Vail was a City-State that dappled in magic. Although Manadonians cannot control or wield Arcana magic like ponies, they can wield the forbidden magics like mind-control and illusions as well as dark magics like Necromancy. Wrath-Vail had a infamous reputation for raising fallen warriors, both theirs and their enemies. Finally there was the City of Towers, also one of the richest City-State of Man'adonia. Unlike most of their fellow City-States, the City of Towers main economic is trading and agriculture, very rarely does it declares war on other cities, rather it puts most of their warriors on defensive tactics than going to war, for there is alway one City-State near them that would attack them. Overall, Vlotius contacted them, gathering at Cyntaf Hold's capital to discuss about something that would change the minds of all Man'adonia and its race; unification. The very word was unheard of for the City-States, for the moment the original four City-States arisen, war was always part of their identity and culture, never in a single moment has any human, any Manadonian, any Warlord conjure up the very thought of unity. The Warlords of Clocshock, Wrath-Vail and the City of Towers laughed at Vlotius' idea, going so far as to think he's mad, yet somehow in that meeting Vlotius convinced them and even surprise them on his vision of a unified Man'adonia. He proclaim that if they would unite under his vision, then they would be immortalise in history. When all the City-States agreed on his idea, they formed the Bronze Covenant, the first ever alliance among City-States with Vlotius as the High King, the first High King. The Bronze Covenant worked by having the City-States placed in important roles in the Covenant, Clocshock would be the blacksmith of the Covenant, creating superior weapons than the other City-States outside of the Bronze Covenant. Wrath-Vail would become the battle-mages, aiding the Bronze Covenant through the art of magic. The City of Towers would be the suppliers for the Covenant, with their wealth they could easily booster the armies, feed it and sustain it for the a very long time. And finally, Cyntaf Hold became the muscle of the Bronze Covenant, with the higher population and well trained warriors and generals, they became the backbone for High King Vlotius' armies as they prepare for war.

Unification war; The Unification War was not as long as many would think. The were many reasons why this was, one reason was the overwhelming surprised from the other City-States to see this Bronze Covenant and the first ever High King. They weren't expecting anything like this, nor were they prepared for it, when the Covenant invaded the other Cities. Some City-States, like Saesneg and Orllewin-Gorthwr were completely against this Bronze Covenant and anyone that even mention it was hung for treason. But others like Fearga, Zergk and Bor'gron admire this new change and within weeks, they too also joined the Bronze Covenant. Vlotius vision of a united Man'adonia within his Bronze Covenant was meant for every City-State, it was either they join the Covenant willingly or forcedly, they was no other options or choices. The war lasted three years, exactly the same time Equestria was just clearing up the chaotic mess of Discord's rein. When the final City-State -Cor'anulo- was absorbed into the Bronze Covenant, Vlotius' vision was a reality, and for the first time since the days where Cyntaf Hold was the only City-State, Man'adonia was united under the banner of the Bronze Covenant. They was no borderlines to each City-State, they were no war, they was no need for the Manadonians to fight one another when they all share a High King. High King Vlotius began his rein of the United City-States of Man'adonia by letting the cities' Warlords still ruling their City-States but swearing loyalty with him, Vlotius repaired all the damages caused by the Unification war and most of all, he brought fourth an age of peace and prosperity. Where every Manadonians that joins the military not to fight for their Warlord or Home City, but to fight for the whole of Man'adonia and their High King. The population grew and for the first time in centuries, City-States looked at each other as brothers and sisters, not enemies and foes. But unfortunately, something are not meant to last forever, especially peace.

The Manadonian Wars; Despite being united and having a golden age in Man'adonia, its people was missing something and it was important... It was war. Vlotius tried to stop having war raging across his newly established Bronze Covenant, but it was the important part of Manadonian culture, it shapes how their minds work, who would rise to a challenge and importantly having the courage to face the unknown without fear or surrender. If war is what they need for those ideas, they'll have, but with this Covenant and no City-State to fight, it was bad for its people. Riots began, with their motto that became infamously famous 'What are we? Who are we, without War?' The High King knew from the riots, no matter how hard you try, no matter if you wish for a utopia, you cannot throw away what the people knew for ages and never forgets. If the people of Man'adonia cries for war, for their culture, then their leader must give it to them. Vlotius began the marching of war when the City-State of Overlord, reported strange creatures beyond their territories, walking on hooves and wearing golden armour. Vlotius ordered Overlord's scouts to spy and learn on them, whilst he amassed a huge invasion force, large enough to conquer four Man'adonia. Equestria was completely unprepared when the Bronze Covenant ravaged the western regions of the kingdom. Pony garrisons fell like leaves in autumn and their forts and fortresses destroyed by canons and monstrous beings beyond the Unknown Realm of the West. Back in Man'adonia, the people rejoiced, their culture, their warriors, their ideals were restored as they marched into the kingdom of Ponies. Vlotius was even surprised when City-States' armies worked together and won many battles side by side. The Manadonians were effective because each City-States they were born from, held different battle ideals and tactics, making the Equestrians lost in the dark as each army contained a different general from a different City-State ruled by the different Warlord loyal to their High King. And in less than seven weeks, all of the western regions of Equestria was under the banner of the Bronze Covenant and Equestria's armies were decimated and annihilated, only a handful of able forces were left standing against the Bronze tide. In desperation, Equestria began calling for aid against the Bronze Covenant. Allies of Equestria were the Griffins, Minotaurs and the Zebras, they answered the desperate call from their pony ally. Equestria and their allies formed The Grand Coalition, to battle against the Bronze Covenant, which by then the Coalition knew what the name of the invaders are and called the Bronze Covenant; The Manadonian Empire. Regardless the name of the invaders' government, the war known as the Manadonian Wars lasted for 20 years, even with the combine strength and aid from the Grand Coalition, they couldn't push the Covenant back from the conquered lands. Instead, the coalition had to do hit and run tactics, forcing the Bronze Covenant to continue holding a defence strategic planning. Famous battles like the Battle of Feather-Shire, where a combine might of Pony Knights and Zebra Shamans fought bravely to the end against the merciless onslaught of a Manadonian task force, before being overran by said task force. The biggest defeat for the coalition was the brutal Sacking of Canterlot, where General Isla of City-State Clandai and Warlord Bouldai of City-State Warlyric under the leadership of High King Vlotius led an army of 27,000 strong, experienced Manadonians to crush the capital city with 4000 Pony Knights, 4000 Griffin Vanguards, 3500 Zebra Shamans and 2000 Minotaur warriors. In the end, the coalition army was decimated, including four important leaders within the Grand Coalition, and the city turned to ashes with all of its goods, stolen and sent back to Man'adonia. The reason for that attack was because High King Vlotius believed that if he captured the capital, the Grand Coalition would surrender to him. However it did not arrive, as the capital of the coalition was moved to Griffinstone. But the crushing defeat resulted in a somewhat victory as well for the Grand Coalition, as the princesses of Equestria discovered the ruler of Bronze Covenant, but to the Coalition still called the Manadonian Empire. They discovered High King Vlotius, which the coalition called Warring Emperor Vlotius and also found out about him being the reason for the Covenant to still be standing, which the Coalition now knows that if they could kill him, the Manadonian wars could be won by the Grand Coalition. With last army of Grand Coalition, they waited for the right moment to strike, with the princesses leading the army. High King Vlotius, who believed that Grand Coalition was defeated, led an army further east into Equestria, where they arrived at Vale of Falling Water, which is modern day Neighagra Falls. With the coalition army laying and waiting, the princesses' plan was to separate Vlotius from his army, and to defeat him in combat as no Manadonian during the Manadonian wars has ever surrendered or retreated. The ambush was planned perfectly, however the army didn't have the same manpower as Vlotius', meaning that they heavy relied on trying to spilt the army, but thanks to General Helenia of City-State Fury'Doal, she managed to keep the army from falling apart as it was attacked on all front. Vlotius, believing that this was only a weaken army, led him and his bodyguards deeper into the battle, where he was cut off from his warriors, fighting on his own. It was here that the High King fought the Princesses of Equestria, although outnumbered and not able to wield magic, Vlotius was no pushover, he was extremely skilled in combat and could easily and quickly spot his opponents weakens to use to his advantage. The dual lasted half an hour, each minute was held as an intense of completing a warrior's strength just by watching it. But finally, the princesses had an upper hand, with their magics, they disarmed Vlotius and with a thrust of the Princess of the sun's sword, stabbed the High King in the heart. As this act was taking place, General Helenia knew that she couldn't defeat the coalition's army unless she pulls them out of the battlefield and further into Manadonian territories, so she regrouped Vlotius' army and pulled back, hoping it would force the Coalition to give chase. But she actually did was leaving her High King on his own, to die alone. After the battle, the Princesses regrouped their remaining army and told them that the Warring Emperor was defeated. They left Vlotius' body in peace, so that the Manadonians could bring it back to Man'adonia. The Manadonian wars, was about to change greatly.

Fall of The Bronze Covenant/The Manadonian Civil War/ the Rise of the Summit & The Stone Wall; With the Grand Coalition clearing their wounds and waiting for a vengeful invasion from the Manadonians to avenge their fallen High King, the Coalition found out that there was no plans of invasions, nor any sign of Manadonians watching over from the west. The reason was most of the Manadonians was back in their homeland, where a great funeral for a War hero, a ruler, a unifier took place in Cyntaf Hold. There the High King was watched by tearful eyes, once again, even in death Vlotius manage to do the unthinkable. He made his people weep for a fallen ruler. Before the Bronze Covenant rose to power, any leader that died in combat was seen as an honourable death, as if it was meant to be, no tears and no sadness, yet with Vlotius' death, his people lost someone they thought would die of natural causes. Over nearly half the population gathered at Cyntaf Hold, where their High King was being taken to, watching the Warlords carrying the casket of gold and bronze with Vlotius inside, resting in everlasting peace. The ceremony lasted nearly a whole day, every Warlord and General of every City-State was there, giving their final words of loyalty to their King and their farewells. As they placed the casket into the tombs of the Warlords of Cyntaf Hold, the other warlords agreed to rename this City-State, the birthplace of the High King. Where this was the first City-State of Man'adonia, it would be renamed in honour and memory of High King Vlotius, the first and last High King, and from this day on the City-State of Cyntaf Hold was renamed into the City-State of Vlotius' Rest, the only City-State with no Warlords and the warriors there only keeps the peace in the City-State for the glory and memory of High King Vlotius. However, Vlotius' death was the ending of the Bronze Covenant as old habits dies hard. As Vlotius had no heir to take his place, the other warlords began to wonder of they could be half the nobility as Vlotius was. And in the following weeks, Warlord Bouldai, Hero of the Sacking of Canterlot proclaim himself High King of the Bronze Covenant, this however, made chaos rein throughout all of Man'adonia and her conquered lands. When the Grand Coalition sent scouts to see what the Manadonians were doing, they reported that Manadonian armies were fighting among each other, massive armies hellbent of making their warlords the High King. To the Manadonians this was something they knew all too well as City-State fought City-State once more, but the Coalition thought that this was a civil war, and thus they called it the Manadonian Civil War. To some leaders of the Coalition, this was a blessing, but for some, like the princesses of Equestria, saw it with sad expression on their faces as they realised what they had done. They had killed the Manadonian leader, and thus a war of succession raged among the invaders. They wanted the war to end yes, but they didn't want their own turning on one another. But even with the infightings happening, the Grand Coalition was too weak to fight, they have to wait till one Manadonian army destroyed another army before the coalition's army finishes the weaken remnant army. It took another four years before the Manadonians abandon their campaign in Equestria and headed to their homeland to fight for their home City-State. That was the end of the Bronze Covenant, when the armies of Manadonians left Equestria and went back to their old selves. After the Manadonian wars, the Coalition came together and formed the Summit, a legal gathering of Pony, Griffin, Zebra and Minotaur to discuss the future of Man'adonia and what to do with it. Many wanted to enter Man'adonia, bring the fight to them for a change, but most agreed that another war is not what they want. And so a legal treaty was signed by all the races' leaders to build a massive wall on the borderlands of Equestria and Man'adonia, to keep the Warring Manadonians from ever restart the Manadonian wars, as well as gather every century to discuss about the Man'adonia. And in seven years, the Stone Wall was built, a massive 306m wall barricading the war torn lands of Man'adonia. It is still a heavy controversial topic in many politics, some believe it was the right thing to do, others disagree and many are not sure because of the wars. Little do they know in Man'adonia, the Golden Age brought by Vlotius barely survived after the Fall of the Bronze Covenant. Manadonian population is still very high and though unification of the City-States is gone, in its place were the Classes of City-States. Now the City-State are placed in four classes, to know the different from one another. There are the Transitional, Heir, Clockwork and Magicka City-States. The Transitional are the City-States in the eastern region of Man'adonia, bordering the Stone Wall. These Cities take the ancient transitions during the pre-covenant era, long before the birth of Vlotius. They believe in the ways of their forefathers, and because of this, even though war rages throughout all City-States, the Transitional are the biggest and constant, leaving the watchers of the Stone Wall seeing smoke of war and violent throughout the eastern lands of Man'adonia. The Heir City-States are also known as the remnants of the Bronze Covenant, they take the words and action of their High King to heart. Although they're not united, they sometime, though rarely, untied to fight a common enemy, namely a newly crowned Warlord. The Heir cities are found in the southern parts of Man'adonia and are believed to have the most populated area in Man'adonia, making their wars larger in the sense of army size. The Clockwork City-States are found in the far western lands, and are the most distinguished of the City-States. The whole western lands are nothing by a huge factory, constantly creating new devices of war and ingenuity. Where the other City-States uses the same weapons like swords, axes and spears like the Clockwork City-States, none of them have canons and creates swords, axes and spears so differently than the Clockwork. Finally the Magicka City-States, hail from the northern regions of Man'adonia. These Cities teaches the arts of magic, namely Elemental, Necromancy and Lycanthropy. Their warriors wear and wield enchanted armours and weapons made by the Mana-Smiths, Warlords are trained as spellswords, and the mages are held in high regards. Their society are same as the others, but they believe that magic must only be used for your Home-city and to crush your enemies. The downside is that the Magicka City-States are the less populated regions, therefor their wars are brief but destructive.

Modern Day(This season); To this day, Watchers of the Stone Wall keeps an eye on Man'adonia, the wall is big enough to see the city of Overlord, where the Manadonian wars was first being prepared. In the princesses' court, many voices of nobles, pro-wall and anti-wall ponies, argues about if they should continue sending funds off the keep the wall up. Many say it's time to end the wall and try and make some diplomatic relations with the Manadonians, while others say let it say up and keep them out. The Summit too has argument about the wall, the most anti-wall people are the Zebras as some of their shamans that were sent to become watchers, say they only thing they see in Man'adonia is suffering and pain. Whilst the most pro-wall people are the Minotaurs, as they believed before the Manadonian wars they were the strongest, only to be proven wrong when Manadonians defeated them with ease. The Griffins are somewhat in on the pro-wall in politic, but their sense of honour makes them anti-wall. But the Ponies are in the middle, as they don't know which good and which is bad because they have a tough call. Either keep the wall up, and peace for all races continues while the Manadonian fights, or break down the wall and it might restart another Manadonian wars or not. However, back in Man'adonia, a Manadonian with some kind of connect with High King Vlotius in blood, is growing fast... And is inspired by the Bronze Covenant as the Manadonian wears Iron Armour, as well as having an Iron will.

Well, hope you like this idea for a native Human Civilisation. It took awhile, and who knows, maybe someone might write a story with this Civilisation in it.

5450113 Ok first that was very good, I enjoyed it a lot. You should write a story about this.

I think I will follow this idea and make a post about my own Human Civilisation. :twilightsmile:

5450113 I really want to like this but that bloody overused and nonsensical Human V Pony trope needs to die!

5450151 Thank you, I pleased that you liked it:pinkiesmile:. I might make a story on this idea, however I don't know if I should make a one-shot or a chapter story, as I have many ideas that needs to be finished.

5450203 It's just an idea:twilightsheepish:, I too hate the human vs pony if it doesn't have a good reason, this Civilisation reason for going to war is that it's a big part of their culture, you can't just throw that away. Also this idea came when I looked at this map, the whole far west is not being shown, maybe that's where Man'adonia is and where no humans as been seen. Yeah it has some changes like where the Dragon Lands is, but that's it.:twilightblush:

5450383 Hey its your idea / story so do as you please, I like the idea I'm just disappointed with seeing so many Human v Pony fics.

5450203 There's nothing wrong with a good Human v Pony fic, that is as long as they have good reason to fight and not simply "They are not us so they must be evil! Kill them to the last!"

5450435 That's true but i doubt you can find a Human v Pony fic that's not filled with a million idiot balls and other forced conflict nonsense.

5450494 I will agree that half, if not more so, of all Human v Pony fic are full of idiots with poor reasons to fight. But for the forced conflict, the stories need something so push the story along, so most of the time as long as it's not too bad I can over look it.
