I decided to put the judging rules in a thread, since there is a huge rubric.

So, here they are! :pinkiehappy:

Judging Rules:

Each story is given 50 points to start. There will be deductions based on spelling and grammar issues, pacing, if the story is something unrelated to the current prompt, and if the story stays within the 1,000 to 20,000 word count.

Judging Rubric:

Spelling/Grammar:

Perfect Spelling/Grammar: +5 Points

1-10 spelling/Grammar mistakes: -1 Point

11-20 spelling/Grammar mistakes: -3 Points

21-30 Spelling/ Grammar mistakes: -6 Points

31-40 Spelling/Grammar mistakes: -10 Points

50+ Spelling/Grammar mistakes: -15 Points

Pacing:

No detail given whatsoever; way too fast paced: -10 Points

Some detail given; a little too fast paced: -5 Points

A good amount of detail given; only a little fast paced: -3 Points

Perfect amount of details given; story moves at a really nice pace: +10 Points

Theme:

Story does not have anything to do with the current prompt: -35 Points

Story fits with the current prompt: +5 Points

Word Count:

Story goes at least 500 words above assigned word count: -20 Points

Story goes 499 or less words above assigned word count: -10 Points

Story stays in the assigned word count: +5 Points

Whichever story has the most points when I finish judging will be the winner. If there is a tie in points, I will pick the story that goes best with the current prompt, or the one that is the most interesting, or maybe even most enjoyable, to be winner.
