This thread is just here to clarify a few details regarding how we'll be working.

We'll be doing prompt threads very regularly. As in at least one every week. They're quite straightforward, and are easy to participate in. They're just short stories, around 500 to 1500 words in length, posted directly in the comments: a quick, easy one-shot that can take as little as a half hour to write. New weekly prompts will appear every Sunday.

Contests, which will involve carefully thought out prompts and sometimes unorthodox and inventive challenges, will be organized every few weeks depending on interest. More time will be given for these (at least a few weeks to a month for each) and prizes will be given to the winners. Since they're tougher to organize and require a lot more effort, they won't come as often, but in my experience they're very rewarding to participate in. Stories from these contests will be featured here in the group in special folders for reference, and may even get reviews from yours truly.

Other events may pop up that focus on other elements of writing, such as reviewing or even collaboration, but those will only appear once we've gauged how much interest there would be in a large event or contest of that nature. For now, we're sticking to prompts, contests, and a few reviews until enough people turn up that less conventional events would be worthwhile.
