I'm asking because I already own the PS4 version, but am thinking of switching over because my friends who I normally play with are barely ever on (I do wish they'd come to PC, but can't change that). Is it worth playing the PC version with no friends (I'm such a loner ), or am I better off saving 80 bucks (yay Canada!) and continuing on console?

In my experience, any games with "Battle" in the name are best played either locally ("Hey buddies, let's order a pizza and hang out at my place!")
or not at all.

Unless it's got a decent single-player campaign, and even then, $80 for the POSSIBILITY of playing with friends does not sound like a good deal.

If you really have that much money to burn, then I envy you; but otherwise, since you're asking, I would say save the $80 and put it towards something else.
