So I've set up a budget gaming build on PCPartPicker.com. I was wondering if you could estimate how good of a rig it would be.

The full build

AMD FX 3.5GhZ 8-Core processor
MSI 970 Gaming motherboard
16Gb DDR3 RAM
MSI Radeon R7 370 4Gb DDR4 Graphics Card

What do you think?

16 gb of RAM is most likely overkill. 8 should be sufficient.

5400225 It would also be used for game development, and Unreal Sdk and Source Sdk are pretty ram/CPU intensive.

5400674 in that case go ahead. I ran into similar comments when building my gaming pc as it doubles as an engineering workstation. I have 16 gb RAM and will probably upgrade to 32 at some point.

5400206 You should drop the network adapter. The motherboard is already equipped for that, so it's a waste of $30.

Other than that, looks like a solid enough budget build.

5400894 Thanks for the tip! The price was about $680 originally, but I think some prices went up or went off sale.
EDIT: It's $680~ without the network adapter... :facehoof::twilightblush:
