With the following story, you'd have to be patient with this one. Sombra is there and it does explain his origin story, but not till chapter 16. After that, he plays a minor role throughout most of the story then shoots up to a major role near the end. Also, things he's done before the start of the story shape much earlier chapters so his shadowy influence is spread across the entire story, for such is the power of the mighty Dark King.

It is a long fic and mostly OC driven, but it gives an interesting take on this character. The core soul identity of this story is inspired by these three videos just to give you an idea. A Tale of One Shadow, The Fall of the Crystal Empire, and Lullaby for a Princess.
