We are writing to ask that you consider altering the rules regarding the classification of fiction currently available on the site, colloquially'rape fics'. We, the signatories are requesting that all stories with rape be clearly classified as such in their description, most notably for clop that glorifies the crime.
This has been an issue with the site for some time, and we believe that proper tagging is crucial to the continued enjoyment of readers across the site.
We, who sign, believe that as a community we should at least try to hold ourselves to higher standards than this. Rape can, and should, be open to discussion and available as a literary device. Glorification of the act, even, will be used as catharsis by those who choose to view it for such so that they don't have to do it in their real life. We are merely asking that, for the sake of the community as a whole, it require to be unabashedly signed as such, with omission or obscuring of this topic in the long and short description being targeted with extreme prejudice.
