I remember Unholy stating that most of the units and tech we know from the games are more or less considered obsolete by the five factions but available to their respective colony militia so I'm setting up this thread so it can be used to create and/ or classify the new units and tech within the story so we can avoid little mistakes.

And to be honest, I'm trying to take a short break from writing the last chapter for my story. So yeah, I'm procrastinating and yet trying to be productive...sort of:derpytongue2:

So far we only know some of the tech from the five factions. Information will be updated and corrected as need be.

Imperial Dominion:
-Has near-exclusive control of cloning technology and the knowledge on how to maintain the required equipment for the cloning.
-Only known faction to have control of Resocialization technology.
-Is ahead of the other factions in development of laser/plasma technology, meaning that they have laser weaponry in their ship based arsenal.
-Has exclusive control of Cloaking technology.
-Only faction to have Nuclear Warheads, which they use indiscriminately on many occasions.

The New Khala:
-Thanks to Zamara, the Khalai ponies have knowledge on the construction and use of the technology the Protoss left behind.
-Only known producer of Khaydarin power cells.
-Better understanding of warp technology than other factions.
-Better understanding of robotics and cybernetics than other factions.

Kel-Morian Consortium:
-Military arsenal consists mainly of ballistic based weaponry i.e: Autocannons, Gatling guns, Railguns, Missiles, etc. etc
-Known haven for pirates and mercenaries who may have access to technology not normally found in the Consortium. i.e: Diamond Dog

New Equestrian Confederacy:
-The Confederacy imports some, if not most of their military hardware from the Consortium.
-The majority of their ground forces consists of zerg, supplemented by power armored Royal Guardsmen.

Umojan Vatican:
-The Vatican imports some, if not most of their military hardware from the Consortium
-Vatican made technology can be assumed to be supplemented by magic and vice versa.
-Vatican Holy Navy utilizes the souls of the dead to operate empty suits of power armor to fight for them.

'Tom'

Ship History:
'Tom' is a civilian shuttle which was owned by a Kel-Morian trader named Fed EX before he was murdered. Ownership was unofficially transferred to Rainbow Dash and Jet Stream. Tom was ill-maintained under its current owners until Apple Bloom restored the shuttle to full working order.

Trivia:
Tom's model series went obsolete over fifty years ago.
The shuttle's cargo hold is no bigger than a garage meant for two cars.
The shuttle is so rusted that ponies often mistake it for a wrecked shuttle.
A stealth field generator was installed but it is incompatible with Tom's systems.

'Iron Will'

Ship History:
The 'Iron Will' was a Minotaur class Battlecruiser normally used as a private transport by the Emperor and on occasion, members of the Royal Family. It served this role for an unknown amount of time before the Emperor loaned his private floating fortress to his daughter, Princess Stage Stone Hoof on her visit to Cadia. The Iron Will and its crew were among the first casualties during the Diamond Dog assault on Cadia.

'Hydra'

Ship History:
The 'Hydra' was a Behemoth class Battlecruiser in the Dominion Armada. The Hydra was present during a border dispute where the Confederates captured one of the Dominion's outer colonies after a devastating bombardment of zerg. The Hydra was heavily damaged in the conflict and was subsequently decommissioned by the higher ups so they could forget about the defeat. The ship was repaired and retrofitted by Happy Day for his use as a personal transport for a number of years before it was destroyed during the assault on Castanar Station.

Trivia:
The Behemoth class was the predecessor to the Minotaur Class.

'Spike' is an A.I developed by Twilight Sparkle for the express purpose of being her assistant/slave. Unlike other Artificial Intelligence, Spike seems to possess the ability to feel and express emotions, most of them being sarcasm typically directed towards its creator. Spike maintains all the functions of the combat shuttle, including the weapons in which the A.I feels delight in firing them.

'Kraken Slayer'

Tech History:
The Kraken Slayer Cannon was designed with one purpose: To shoot down enemy battleships within orbit by firing huge metal slugs into orbit. The artillery platform is normally protected from air-to-surface assaults by a forcefield and a series of point defense lasers, making a dangerous ground assault the only option to take the artillery down.

Precision Gloves

Tech History:
The Precision Gloves are basically a miniaturized version of the large robotic hands found on Power Armor. The mechanical hands were developed to give non-unicorns the ability to use tools that would normally require hands to handle. Thus allowing non-unicorns to follow professions formerly exclusive to unicorns and their magic.
While the gloves are considered a useful tool in certain professions, it is an essential part of military training within the sector since most military hardware requires hands to use them, especially weapons.
Over the centuries, various models of precision gloves have been developed for various roles, from the lightweight civilian models used by regular ponies, to heavy duty models used by the military.
Some models are able to switch to quadruped mode, allowing users to move around with the gloves still equipped. There have also been research on weaponizing the gloves themselves to increase it's already versatile status.

I have an idea for a prototype weapon that either the greater good or the dominion could have developed. So basicly what I was thinking was a shotgun-ish weapon that is designed to take out heavily armoured troops like the marauder. I will give you an example of how it could be working when it hits its target, skip to 23.13 of this video.

I dont have a name for it so you could name it if think of something fitting. So you think this could work in the story?

3157833 Sounds like you're talking about a heavy duty version of a shotgun slug round, not the gun itself though it would fit in with the idea of weapons getting better with time like Unholy had intended. We'll just create it and catalogue it on this thread for future use. You never know, it might just be used by one of heroes...or a baddie. God I really hope, we don't kill one of the good guys with this beast.

As for a name...hmm, how does Shock Ripper sound to you? Since the gun uses the impact of the shockwave to rip the the armor apart?

3158892 Yes to be shot by this thing whith no armour on whould probbably be gorey but we shall see if it ends up in the story or not. And since its a prototype they wont be used by any soldiers atleast (yet) and as for the name how about "Mk1AA Ripper" it sound more military, AA stands for anti armour in case you where wondering.

Mk1AA Ripper

History
Development of this weapon was started by the Dominion to conter heavely armoured enemies in places where vehicles or other anti armour equipment could not be deployed. When the lab where the development was taking place was raided by a group of pirates all the plans and reseach was stolen and the project was dropped. The weapon plans and data was for a while circuling the black market until eventualy it ended up in the hands of the greater good that picked up where the prodject had been left of. A few funktional ptototypes has been made for testing with great succsess on both Terran armour tech aswell as most Zerg creatures, shield tech however has proven to be more resistant. If the weapon dose well on the battlefield plans are to develope a vehicle mounted version of this weapon.

Psi Caster

Tech History:
The Psi-Caster was developed from the preexisting Psi Blades utilized by the long extinct Protoss' warrior caste. Like the Psi Blades, the caster is worn around the arms of the user in the form of a gauntlet.
Unlike the Psi Blades however, the caster is used primarily as a ranged weapon by the Khalai warriors, but the weapon can create a blade of psionic energy for close quarters combat. Just like many machinery utilized by the Khalai, only a unicorn trained in psionic magic can wield the weapon.

Ship history: Not long after their engagement with the Umojan Vatican, the Khalai faced a serious issue - Their supply carriers were very easy to intercept by enemy fighters. Despite the necessity, the Golden Armada was unable to spare its battle frigates or capital ships very often, without rupturng its durability as a fighting force. Thus came the idea of the Leviathan class Carriers - a slightly larger than a (void ray sized) battle frigate cross breed of a battle frigate and a cargo hauler. The LCC's hangar can house up to fourteen small fighters, almost half of which are remotely controlled DIUs. Along with that it can store substancial loads of goods. Due to their great use as prisoner transporters a third of the quarters aboard an LCC are fitted as cells, though all rooms can serve such a purpouse as the doors' locking can be controlled from the bridge. Along with that the LCC's arsenal allows it to hold its own in a fight, whle dishimg out punishment. Fighters and small frigates from the other factions rarely stand a chance. The thick hull and plating offer great protection. Although full repair takes the ships DRCs a long time, they are able to perform minor repairs, put out fires and remove problems very quickly, which allows the LCC to outlast its opponents in prolonged combat, though capital ships and larger frigates are capable of annihilating LCC's rather quickly. The proton-phase cannon takes quite some time to recharge after usage, so aiming and timing when using it are crutial. It packs a punch to not completely destroy capital ships and large frigates, but strong enough to disable a vessel of such size if hit properly.

High Frequency Blade(HFB)

Tech History:
The High Frequency Blade or HFB was originally developed as power tool but was adopted by the military and became a close combat weapon for use against enemies when they come into melee range or when the user's firearm is rendered useless. The blade in reality isn't a single blade, but a miniaturized chain saw which is powered by a small but powerful motor housed in the base of the blade.
The weapon is typically the size of a large dagger, but there has been other models developed and used exclusively by other factions.
Thanks to the diamond tipped teeth, the weapon can be used to penetrate the thick layers of metal on power armor, but this wears out the motor and is inadvisable.
Due to the weapon's complex assembly, not many outside the military can afford such an expensive weapon.

Fusion Cutter Blade(FCB)

Tech History:
Originally developed as a variant of the HFB, the Fusion Cutter Blade has plasma emitters in place of the diamond-tipped teeth, allowing it to cut through thick layers of armor far more easily than the HFB, making it a good anti-armor weapon in emergencies. However, due to its plasma emitters, the FCB uses up power faster than it's original counterpart, making it inefficient for extended periods of use.

Pulse Grenade

Tech History/Info:
One of the many tools used by members of the Dark Order. Unlike standard grenades or other explosives, the Pulse Grenade was designed to emit an invisible and silent psionic shockwave, which will disable any pieces of machinery within it's blast radius.

However, the grenade can only disable machines that aren't protected against the psionic shockwave's effects and the machines themselves will only remain disabled for a short period of time.

Ship History:
One of the ships created by members of House de Construct that joined the Vatican during the Grand Exodus. The Aegis was designed to intercept and shoot down enemy fighters. As its name suggest, the Aegis Class are also charged with the duty of defending allied ships from enemy fire. To accomplish this role, the Aegis was equipped with spell emitters linked to the ship’s aura circuit array. The emitters allow the frigate to project magical barriers around itself or on a friendly vessel should either shields fail.

Amplified by the aura circuit array, the projected barriers were capable of withstanding nearly anything. However, in order for the spell emitters to project the barrier, the Aegis needs to disable their own shields effectively, leaving them exposed to enemy fire. To compensate for this, the Aegis’ hull is reinforced with thick layers of neosteel armor so it could survive for a time without the barrier. The Aegis was also designed to work in tandem with other Aegis-class frigates to strengthen and expand the barrier’s defensive property, making the ship the perfect shield for the Vatican.

Ship History:
The Lancer is the vanguard of the Holy Navy and as such, it is heavily armed and armored to fulfill that role. The Lancer is also one of the first ships developed through the cooperation of House de Construct and the Order of the Arcane. However, what differentiated the Lancer from the average cruiser was the crystalline structure built into the bow of the ships. The structure resembled the tip of a lance, hence the ship’s class designation.

The ‘lance’ is an arcanatech weapon created through the combined efforts of House de Construct and the Order of the Arcane. It was directly connected to the ship’s aura circuit array and was designed to give unicorns a focused outlet for their magic as though as it was a unicorn’s horn, allowing an adept mage to cast a variety of spells through it. However, its most common use is by channeling raw magic into the lance, which causes it to fire a powerful bolt of magic that could pierce through anything save the powerful shields of a capital ship.

Unfortunately, despite its destructive power, the ‘lance’ suffers a long cooldown period after firing due to a limiter device built into the weapon that prevents the aura circuits from overloading. This made the ‘lance’ a powerful weapon but one with limited uses on the battlefield. The Lancer compensates for this with its array of rail guns and missile launchers that would devastate any foe foolish or unfortunate enough to get in the way.

Ship History:
The CastleKeep is the largest ship in the Holy Navy as well as one of its oldest. The CastleKeep was initially created as House de Construct's response to the Vatican's desire for a warship worthy of their goddess. As the Holy Navy's flagship, the CastleKeep was equipped with the latest weapons and defenses as well as the arcanatech from both the Aegis Class and the Lancer Class as the hull is lined with spell emitters to reinforce its shields while three arcane lances on its bow, allowing it to fire devastating bolts of magic in quick succession.

To power all these weapons, the ship is equipped with multiple reactors as well as several auxiliary generators to supply the energy needed to maintain the ship’s systems and keep its facilities running. One of these facilities are the factory modules where machines would use raw materials mined from captured worlds or asteroids, to fabricate the ammunition used by the Castlekeep and the rest of the fleet.

However, due to costs that were exorbitant even by the Vatican's standards, there are few Castlekeep class vessels in service and even then, not many enter battle much often.

Breezy Repair Pod(Placeholder)

History:
The Breezy Repair Pods are compact one-pony vehicles that are fitted with multiple repair tools. They're designed to be deployed in groups and perform emergency repairs on the battlefield and act as a counter to the repair drones used by the Khalai. The Breezies are so compact that five of them can take up the space of one starfighter so even small frigates could carry a number of the pods without sacrificing their firepower or space for munitions.

However due to their small size, the pods’ armor are thin, making them fragile and vulnerable to even small arms fire. Without any weapons of their own, the Breezy pilots would have to rely on their allies to protect them, a role readily fulfilled by the Aegis class frigates.

Based on the principles of the Phoenix Forge, the Aura Circuit Array or A.C.A was developed to magnify the powers of an average unicorn's magic beyond what they're normally capable of. With the A.C.A, a unicorn is able to create barriers that can withstand against anything or fire a beam capable of piercing through any armor.

However, the A.C.A's complex design makes it large and cumbersome to wield on the battlefield so they're installed on Vatican ships so battlemages aboard them could support their forces with their spells while also ensuring there are as few casualties among the mages.
