Over One Thousand Years ago, the Mother of the Night, Princess Luna, sought to make her own kingdom where her and her ponies could rule under the night. She took a number of colts and fillies, and divided them into two groups: One, to head to the North to an ancient land, and Two, to hide in Equestria until Mother Night returned for them. But she never came. The leader of the first group, a young and courageous colt named Requiem, divided up the numerous ponies and put them into families, clans, and eventually a tribe-which became to be know as the Melodious Tribe. They built a Kingdom and were at peace with the land's natives, Dragons, for two generations. The Kingdom was named the Lunalu Republic.(Not to be confused with the Lunar Republic) The grandson of Requiem, Ensemble, strayed from the Path of Luna, and found a stronger path-the Path of Discord, the Lord of Chaos. The Kingdom was then named "Discordia." Five years later, a race of ponies that use Dark Magic attacked Sulvania, activating a chain of events that would result in a war for Six Hundred Years. Eventually, the Old Castle got overrun, and the kingom hid with the dragons on a "peninsula" called, "Dragonvale." About Five-Hundred Years later, the Ruler at the time-her name was Duet Vocal- received a prophecy from the Ancient Keeper of Ages, alias "The Cartographer," about that her grandchild would stop the Endless Blood. Duet Vocal mysteriously disappeared, but not before giving the kingdom to a chosen caretaker, her being name Nightshade Star.
