One thing I really like about FTL is how simple yet effective the way the layout is and how easy it is to control the ship (insofar as you control it). I also like how FTL doesn't make any attempt to show the ships flying around because in RL, space is REALLY BIG and empty, and any decently realistic space battle would have ships basically sniping at eachother from across the solar system and would require onboard computers to do all the calculating and aiming.

Anyway, my question is if you could take a ship and its crew from FTL and let them travel to some other Sci-Fi setting, what setting would you have them explore and who would you send?

Settings I can think of off the top of my head:
Dr. Who
Starcraft
Star Trek
Star Wars
SPAZ (Space Pirates and Zombies)
Mass Effect
and maybe some less space-oriented settings like TF2, Half-Life, or others.

Thoughts?

Kerbal Space Program. I'm pretty sure first contact would be a pretty interesting experience for all parties involved.

The Kestrel would land on the moon and meet Luna. Nuff said.
