OC Creation Requests and Minor Roleplay 14 members · 2 stories

I have started this group because I create OCs, and I want to share my talents with the world. If you need help in creation of your OC's personality, pic, or simply want to share your OCs and OC stories, this is the group to do it.

336736 :derpytongue2: Well, for someone who got bored in the second demo and ended up trying stuff, I got pretty far in it. Nothing I'd brag about, but I can at least use the software. :rainbowdetermined2: Anyways, only one way to find out... :trollestia: when I get the time to.

You all are now able to start threads for requests, sharing, or Roleplay testing of your characters!

No offense but SFM is the simplest software I've ever laid eyes on. I'm not doubting your skills, I'm sure you'll do great, just don't expect that much of a challenge.

336729 :trixieshiftright: Oh, I think I'd do the same. I've figured out most of Source Filmmaker, so two dimensional things should be a bit easier. :trixieshiftleft: Well, since three dimensions are so annoying.

Well... I don't think I should answer that. I blew through the flash instruction book in a day or two whereas everyone else is still like on lesson 6 out of 10. It was easy to me, but others say that it's really hard. Idk man, I enjoy it but some tend to have real problems with it. :applejackunsure:
If it's good for this... to me it is because it's way easier (if you can grasp the system). You can draw straight lines to make the basic frame of whatever object/person/pony then bend the lines to whatever shape you need. Thing is... if you're not careful the lines will intersect and it'll all go to shit (this is where knowing it comes into play). If you want I'd say try illustrator, but regular CS works for me in terms of animating as well as model making.

336727  Good to know I'm not the only one that does that! I haven't tried Flash yet, you think it's good for this sort of thing? Been thinking of seeing if I can do some basic animation. :trixieshiftright:

I can draw pretty decent using flash, but I need a reference point. Not a template, but just a picture to give me a constant image of what I'm making (not a copy or even remotely related, just something to give me a constant reminder of the body shape or shape in general). But I know that feel. When I go I make each individual body part it's own layer (a habit I picked up throughout my time animating), even the color gets like 20 different layers dedicated to it (depending on the complexity of the image) :rainbowwild::rainbowlaugh:

336686 :rainbowlaugh: I know what you mean! Unfortunately how I draw really breaks the character down into all the individual pieces, legs, body, neck, mane, tail, etc, so it takes a bit longer (I think) than some other people. That, and I'm... not so good with paint programs at the moment.

Oh, side note: My personal image is one of my OCs that I tried to draw in Inkscape. Don't think it came out too badly...

Sounds fun
I like to make characters of my own (can't draw to save my life though :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

336678 :rainbowdetermined2: Alright then! I may send a rough sketch to see if it fits how you see her, but otherwise it'll be a bit before I send you anything.

336677
That is pretty much her. She is good at both singing and music playing, usually the acoustic and/or electric guitar.

336674 :trixieshiftleft: Hmm... alright, I'll draw something up next time I get the chance (maybe tomorrow or day after). Is what I have below correct? if not, please correct me.

Race/Gender: Pegasus Alicorn Mare
Cutie Mark: Record with Music notes.
Talent: Music or Singing ?
Age: Roughly that of the Mane 6
Personality: Introvert and hardworking
Instrument: ?
Mane & Tail: Slightly miskept
Body Type: Average, not overly thin or thick

It'll be pencil-paper, but it'll be more detailed than digitally made (at least with what I can do at the moment).

Her name is Lightspark.
She loves music and writing lyrics, and (obviously) that has an effect on her flight trail. She enjoys being alone more than with others, but can tolerate other ponies' company. She does not enjoy being led on, and does not prefer to "fall in love", as she believes that "finding her special somepony" is trivial. This does not make her a spiteful and mean pony however, and all she wishes is to be left alone with her work. Her lifelong dream is to make the most out of her music and the beauty of her voice.

336672 :duck: Alright, I can do something with this. Question, do you have a personality/attitude/talent for her? Like, can you tell me who she is, effectively.

:twilightblush: Yeah, I draw a great deal from their actual character, since to make it look real I need some portion of actual 'life'.

336669 :trixieshiftright: Oh, I know what programs you mean, and they're actually a great place to start. Yeah I could do that, I'm best with pencil-paper at the moment, however am looking for some work to improve my skills both with programs and not.

336667
That is a great quality to have. If you like, I could give you an OC to draw. I can't handraw, but on certain programs I can make really nice OCs...

336646 , I'm not looking for an OC, but create some myself and am apparently good at drawing them. Or, so I'm told.

I can draw some OCs if this is something that's needed. I just need a good description of what they look like and who they are as a character.
