Well, 'This Beautiful Darkness Shall Protect Me...' is about a multiple-personality pony/man who is forced by Queen Chrysalis to spy on Equestria by becoming a high-ranking leader within it. The foolish ponies are easy to jump on his band wagon, but he soon discovers that he, himself, was tricked. Right now, as the story is, he is trying to find his true self while fighting (and getting help from) the human within him. Enjoy this fabulous adventure that will last a hundred or so chapters, for what I have just stated is the start.

Council Member Wright Scribe (Pony) has the memories of many people. He shares his body with a psychotic mage that, on his world, had become something called the 'Charred Man'. Wright used Allen's power to absorb some magic from the Elements of 'Destiny' (Harmony), which overwrote the mind-control over him. Scribe and Trixie fell deeply in love, but Allen despises Trixie and all other beings that are alive while he is dead.

Sadly, Allen must be freed every so often to assist Scribe in his misadventures, but while he is in his human form, the equine form becomes weaker. Allen had nearly no remorse for any action he had done in his life (Like making an entire species extinct and killing his fellow scientists after becoming the Charred Man), but he does like Scribe and feels somewhat bad for him. Because of this, Allen does as he is ordered, for he knows that Scribe (his only true friend) is slowly killling himself just to let him be free.

Of course, Allen is a bastard, so he tricks Scribe to let him free every once in a while.

Scribe, too, is probably a human, but it seems all his memories were destroyed and replaced with Allen's, The Original Charred Man's, and John Right (A child whose power was to deconstruct and manipulate magic, who Allen/Charred Man stole his power from before dying from the mage cops after a few years on the run).
