Hello all.
Would any of you be interested in coming up with scenarios for how you would complete a tactical problem, to be posted depending on interest.

Well, what kind of problem? What's the scenario?

The scenario is as follows
Prince Blueblood has been taken hostage by a group of seven hostiles whilst eating lunch in Canterlot. He has been bundled into a pleasure cruiser type airship that is now travelling at 20 miles per hour to the Saddle Arabian border. It is now twenty miles away from the Saddle Arabian border. The saddle Arabians have refused permission for Equestrian assets to cross the border in pursuit. The kidnappers are refusing to negotiate and the only way to extract BB is through an assault.

The Airship appears to be a pleasure cruiser, though no details on it exist in the Equestrian Air Database. Nopony has yet been able to identify the marque, however approximate readings suggest it is three storeys tall and the outer shell is made of high density plastic that will not withstand much punishment. The engines are located in four separate nacelles that are connected via scaffold.
Interior diagrams will follow shortly

Known strength of hostiles: seven, two unicorns, one Pegasus and one earth pony, plus two gryphons and a Minotaur, all heavily armed. The gryphons are flying circuits around the airship itself, though no other armed pony has been seen. It is unknown whether there are more hostages on board. It is unknown who the leader is at this time.

Resources at your disposal:
Twelve assault ponies armed with lightweight submachine guns. (Four Unicorns, Six Pegasi, two Earth Ponies)
One sniper spotter team (sniper is a unicorn, spotter is a Pegasus)
Two air attack ponies loaded with high velocity cannon and unguided rockets (NOTE, the airship is a civilian airship and will not withstand severe punishment, the gas in the cells is also flammable and could ignite if shot)
Three high speed life-boats from the frigate HMS Sunbeam which will be remaining on standby nearby, but cannot directly get involved until the hostages are secured.
Local law enforcement elements (fifteen ponies who have no training for the situation)
Mission: Secure Blueblood, then other hostages, then kill the pirates, airship survivability desired but not essential.

1.Land Pegasi on airship.
2. Breach door. Vacuum will suck most individuals out.
3. Unicorns float hostages to the ground.
4. Pegasi make floating manoeuvres in now plummeting aircraft.
5. Terminate surviving hostiles within plane, likely stunned.
6. Pegasi evacuate plane.
7. Earth Ponies mop up remaining ground based hostile elements.
