The Great Dictator is by far one Charlie Chaplin's greatest works. Most of us if not all of us can agree that it is great because of the speech at the end. But what about the speech makes it great? Was it because of the propaganda about liberty and equality or was it something else?

I think it's more that it's something of a breath of fresh air. In this day and age, the media only really talks about the dark side of humanity. We're constantly bombarded with people saying that humans are evil, and that we're destroying the world, and such and so on. It's striking to hear someone say that we are naturally loving and caring.
