Discord Q. Mytzlplik is somewhat of a mixed character in Equestrian lore, with most views of him being colored either by the events of his reign in ancient times or by his current actions in the modern era.

Discord was born to a draconequus female named Demeter. He was an only child, but one of incredible power for his species.

Discord was a prodigy, capable of altering reality on a whim, something few Draconequi could actually do.

Something like this has only occurred once since Discord's birth. However, the child was a miscarriage, and the result is what is now known as WCP-1782

In his youth, he made friends with Faust's second daughter, Celestia, and the two became very close (whether romantically or not is unknown, both parties avoid the question).

Discord played a minor part in overthrowing Tirek, and afterwards continued playing pranks for several years before... well, no one knows.

In between Tirek's imprisonment and Discord's reign, Discord was chosen by the Parliament of Chaos to be the third Nyarlathotep, chosen to sit at the right hand of the blind sultan Azathoth, essentially acting as... well, honestly, no one's sure. The way the Parliament works and why it even exists is either a mystery or so beyond the thinking of Material life that we can never understand it.

Discord took this in stride until Celestia and Luna were to be named rulers of Equestria (Dream politely declined), at the age of 25.

At that point, Discord suddenly went crazier than normal for seemingly no reason, overthrowing the Equestrian royalty and placing himself as ruler, managing to reign for 3 years before being turned to stone by Celestia and Luna.

However, prior to this, one of Discord's most dangerous "pranks" involved the forcible fusing of Faust's oldest daughter, Dream, and Faust's youngest daughter, Luna. This would have many consequences in the centuries to come, namely Dream and Luna going insane, Dream forcibly taking over Luna's body, the Equestrian Civil War, and the Lunar Banishment.

Roughly 40 years ago at the time of this writing, Discord escaped his imprisonment, was recaptured... and then, oddly enough, was set free again.
