It's directly against the rules but there are hundreds of foalcon stories out there. It's probably against the law in some ways too. I feel like we should just go and report all of it.

That same argument has been used against violent video games and pornography - that violent video games would make people more violent, and that pornography would cause an increase in illicit sexual behavior.

In real life, since the advent of violent video games such as Doom and readily available, free pornography on the Internet, both the homicide and rape rates have fallen by over 50%. We have certainly not seen an increase in such activities and, in fact, we appear to see an overall, massive decrease in said activities, which suggests a substitution effect - that is to say, people are less likely to go out and kill people or rape people when they can just shoot monsters in a video game and wank to porn on their computer.

And why not? Raping and killing people is a lot of work.

Thus, the balance of the evidence is that there is no deleterious effect from such entertainment, and it may well actually have a protective effect, as people may use said entertainment in lieu of the actual activity.

So, while it may be creepy to see people with their BDSM/pedophilia/zoophilia/cannibalism/ect. stories, chances are that they are unlikely to keep someone as a slave in their basement, rape a child, have sex with their dog, or eat someone.

As a defender of the right to freedom of speech, frankly, I think it is somewhat appalling that some people apparently have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality. If you can't distinguish fantasy from reality, then you need help. I sorely doubt most people who write these stories or enjoy these stories will ever actually be a danger to any child, and in fact, I doubt most of them are even pedophiles.

They may be creepy as hell, or in some cases, may be children themselves (remember, there are probably many people on this site who illegally attest to being over the age of 18 so that they can read pony pornography - and I'm sure, in many cases, write it) which is a bit less creepy but still kind of messed up (and, ironically, actually illegal - lying about your age is a criminal offense), but I don't think that they present any real danger to the world at large, by and large.

Also, just FYI, Knighty has some foalcon on his favorites list, so I think your complaining about them is likely to fall on deaf ears.

If you really can't stand seeing foalcon in the feature box, my advice to you is two things:

1) There isn't that much of it, so you could, rather easily, push it out of the feature box by writing better stories. Only seven stories get featured at a time (plus three updated stories); if you filled the feature box with good stories all the time, the foalcon wouldn't get in there.

2) Untick the mature story box. This will save you from all the other super creepy stuff as well, such as rapefics, HIE sex stories, diaperfics, ect.
