To explain: it’s completely unpaved, has zero guardrails, is barely wide enough for two vehicles to drive side-by-side, has much vision-obscuring dust when it’s dry and is muddy when it’s rainy. Placed along the route are dozens of crosses that mark where vehicles have gone off the edge.
