Hello, everyone. A bit of a thought came to mind ever since I played Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
And that thought is: Who would win in a fight between Dante from Devil May Cry 3 (Keep Ninja Theory's Bad Fanfiction out of this) and Deadpool, the Merc with the Mouth.

So that leaves alot of things to be considered for each character.

Dante:

Half-Demon Son of Sparda who wields a broadsword named Rebellion and packs a pair of semi-automatic .45 caliber pistols dubbed Ebony and Ivory. Being a half-demon, Dante's undergone so many impossible situations has has been shot, impaled, electrocuted, sliced, stabbed, crushed and even more during his ventures in just Devil May Cry 3 alone. The guy is a smart ass and has a habit to run his mouth, which more or less shows his rather callous nature.

Deapdool:

The Merc with the mouth himself, Deadpool is known as the immortal mercenary in the Marvel universe who also seems to have no comprehension of the fourth wall. He wields dual Katanas, pistols, grenades, a teleporter belt (That Malfunctions on occasions) and so much more. In terms of dying... he absolutely refuses as he has a healing factor of the highest kind, allowing him to regenerate just about anything.

So I ask the question:

Who do you think would win?

2346275

Plus he killed the entire Marvel universe in the comics.

Suck it, Woverine

I seen many battles between the two and it always comes down to Dante.
(Sense they becomes bros after the fight)

Who in the Gary Stu is that?

I apologize, but I don't think I know much about Warhammer...
Never understood it

2347665
Its the God Emperor of Mankind....

2348312

Nothing Demonic or Zombie-like?

Lame. Not for me. That God title gets thrown around too often

Let's really compare what these characters are capable of:

Dante
Powers, Abilities, and Skills: Super strength, speed, durability, stamina, agility, dexterity; high level of insensitivity to pain (he is never shown to be suffering from serious pain, with the possible exception of the aftermath of his second fight with Vergil in DMC3—but that was probably lack of stamina rather than pain); high resistance to life/soul-draining and possession; very high degree of willpower (always seems to not give a fuck); regeneration (able to regenerate limbs/fatal wounds, but still dies from decapitation; regeneration is almost instantaneous since his wounds heal as soon as they're dealt, which is why it's so hard to decapitate/dismember him); teleportation (relatively short-ranged, but very useful in combat); can temporarily transform into a demonic form using the Devil Trigger ability which increases his physical abilities (by between 50–250%), rejuvenates his stamina (which is what his HP actually represents in-game), and often grants him at least partial flight/levitation; by the time of DMC2 he can transform into his true demon form using "Majin Form" ("majin" literally meaning "demon god") granting him similar benefits as Devil Trigger to a significantly greater degree (at least a 250% increase); assumed immortality (at least longevity via regeneration, possibly via "demon-demigodhood" given how his father Sparda protected the human world for 2000 years and served under Mundus as one of his generals for an unspecified time before that); superb mastery of swordsmanship, marksmanship (for example, he can hit targets as small as the base of a .45 ACP round, an area of less than 1 cm^2, from a distance outside of Savior's grasp—which is greater than 80 meters given that Savior is over 210 meters tall—over and over with such unerring precision and accuracy that his bullets stack on top of each other perfectly, and can shoot his opponents' bullets mid-air from extremely close range), and unarmed martial arts, creator of six different combat styles as well having mastered a personalized variation of Vergil's "Dark Slayer style" to use while wielding Yamato, and can near-instantly master the use of a new weapon or ability with surprising ease; can channel his demonic energy into objects allowing them to perform significantly better than they normally should (for example, allowing a motorbike to storm several kilometers vertically within a minute, or transforming "normal" pistol bullets into charged shots with the power of building-busting tank shells); assumed ability to convert demonic energy into "bullets"—similar to Vergil's "Summoned Phantom Swords"—granting him effectively unlimited ammo (and explaining why he never ever has to reload); can absorb the powers of other demons and fashion them into relics he can then use; can survive for prolonged periods (possibly indefinitely) without oxygen (demonstrated when he was underwater a long period of time, and when he is transported into an area strongly resembling outer space, both times without seemingly giving a fuck about apparent lack of oxygen); limited telekinesis (caught a motorbike with it in DMC1); can "seal" people/demons away; spatial manipulation (only with Yamato, post-DMC4); time manipulation (only with Quicksilver style, which drains Devil Trigger power while in use); can create an apparition of himself that mimics his movements (only with Doppelganger style, which drains Devil Trigger power while in use); often uses annoying banter and insults to enrage, upset, confuse, distract, and otherwise unbalance his opponents; grandmaster at not giving a single fuck

Weaknesses: As his stamina decreases his regeneration becomes less effective; by the time of Devil May Cry 2 he had to place limits on his own power as he was getting too powerful; arrogant and usually screws around unless he fights someone around the same level as him; pizza and strawberry sundaes (...that was obviously a joke)
Also, series reboots :rainbowlaugh:

Destructive Capacity: Sword is at least wall level, bullets can be charged to greater than building level, while Dante is at least [multi]-city block level by himself (able to physically contend with Savior, whose punches should be equivalent to between 50–100 tonnes of TNT, while still basically screwing around)

Range: Extended melee range with melee weapons, several hundred meters with projectile weapons

Speed: Hypersonic (>6800 m/s, Mach 20+) given feats like those seen during the first battle between Dante and Vergil from the opening cutscene of DMC1 or his fight with a "lightning speed" Blitz demon in DMC4 (although it's actually significantly slower than real cloud-to-ground lightning, which is at least Mach 176+ and normally closer to Mach 440+, whereas the Blitz is around Mach 20+), reaction time is definitely hypersonic (at least >13,600 m/s, Mach 40+), and he seems to have some capacity to dodge a transonic projectile despite not being able to see or hear it coming (combat-standard high-pressure 9mm Parabellum cartridges fired from a Browning Hi-Power/CZ-75B hybrid like Lady's should have a muzzle velocity of 360–410 m/s, Mach 1.06–1.2); at least massively hypersonic (>34,000 m/s, Mach 100+) when using Quicksilver to slow down time/accelerate himself (only lasts a minute or two at the most with maximum Devil Trigger gauge)

Durability: Greater than multi-city block level (withstood direct hits from the Savior without difficulty), unknown degree of heat/fire resistance (casually sat on Berial's flaming tail for at least several seconds with nothing more than a slightly singed coat to show for it), regeneration makes him extremely difficult to kill

Lifting Strength: At least megatonne class (10^9—10^12 kg) given how Nero—a significantly weaker character overall than Dantecasually manhandles large demons with his Devil Bringer arm; judging by its size, a demon like Bael in the video should weigh over 100 tonnes

Striking Force: At least gigajoule class (10^9—10^12 J) given how he casually shatters and slices hard targets like Savior's stone body, and stopped one of Savior's punches

Stamina: Extremely high, he can casually stroll around and make smart ass remarks with a buster sword sized blade shoved through his chest and being gutted by multiple scythes didn't impede his performance in the slightest, and he showed no discomfort during nor after Nero pinned him to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the face with Devil Bringer; Dante is rarely shown to struggle in battles, and wins most of his fights with such ease that it's assumed he was merely toying with his opponent the entire time

Intelligence: Master swordsman, superb marksman, master of armed and unarmed combat, is generally able to near-master any new weapon he acquires almost instantly (assuming he doesn't just have previous knowledge of the use of similar weapons), possesses extensive experience fighting demons and similar supernatural threats, skilled at using nearly anything in his environment as an improvised weapon

Standard Equipment: Rebellion, Ebony & Ivory, sawn-off double barrel shotgun, Sparda/Force Edge (post-DMC3), Yamato (post-DMC4); however, he was seen keeping many of his weapons and trophies displayed within his office, so it is likely that he kept all of his old weapons there as well

Additional Information: In Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Dante appears (non-canonically) as a multiversal-level entity and one of the strongest demons in the game, capable of surviving the "Conception", an event that wiped out humanity and turned Tokyo into the Vortex World, a place where humans are immediately reduced to piles of ash; was capable of fighting evenly against some of the strongest demons in Nocturne, naturally including a shitload of gods and planetbusters and shit like that, and was never actually defeated once in the game.

Deadpool
Powers, Abilities, and Skills: Super speed, strength, durability, stamina, agility, dexterity; regeneration (able to regenerate from being blown into pieces); immortality (longevity granted via a deity, in this case a curse from a jealous Thanos); highly resistant to most drugs and toxins; immune to all known diseases and infections; extremely resistant to even high-level telepathy (this extends to make him similarly resistant to possession); master swordsman and gunman, mastery of martial arts, extremely unpredictable; often uses annoying inane banter to confuse and distract his opponents; capable of breaking the fourth wall; aware that he is a fictional character

Weaknesses: He is completely insane (although admittedly sometimes this is a strength rather than a weakness), and so unpredictable that even he himself barely knows what he's going to do at any given moment; he is often distracted by his own idle thoughts about inane things, or running commentary and conversations between himself and the pair of narration boxes/"voices in his head" that are a constant companion to him; although he is used to it, he still feels pain and can be incapacitated by it; technically, he does not have inexhaustible supplies, although his "magic satchel" (a reference to the inventory system characters have in video games) seems to hold an unspecified, indeterminate number of supplies, so he effectively has unlimited weapons and ammo—however, even then he still has to physically reload; he cannot control where his personal teleportation device sends him

Destructive Capacity: Wall level unarmed or with melee weapons and firearms; up to multi-building level with lots of explosives

Range: Extended melee range with melee weapons, several hundred meters with projectile weapons

Speed: Superhuman (10–100 m/s), probably has subsonic "faster than the human eye" combat speed (100–200 m/s), he has demonstrated bullet-timer feats so his reaction time is supersonic (340–1700 m/s, Mach 1.0–5.0); movement via teleportation is as near-instantaneous as it can be, but has limited usefulness in combat due to aforementioned weaknesses

Durability: Greater than building level, regeneration and immortality make him extremely hard to kill

Lifting Strength: While his true upper limit is unknown, to date the most he's lifted is 360 kg, so his maximum is at least one-tonne class (5.0×10^2—1.0×10^3 kg), possibly in the low five-tonne class (1.0×10^3—5.0×10^3 kg)

Striking Force: Probably mid-high kilojoule class (10^3—10^6 J)

Stamina: Extremely high, can casually stroll around and make smart ass remarks with multiple swords stabbed in his back without his performance being impeded in the slightest

Intelligence: Master swordsman and marksman; master of armed and unarmed combat, assassination techniques, espionage methods, covert operations, infiltration methods, and escape artistry; is aware that he is a fictional character and often breaks the fourth wall, can surprisingly execute clever plans despite his insanity

Standard Equipment: Two katana; two handguns or compact submachineguns; a "magic satchel" containing an indeterminable amount of various types of ammo, supplies, and other weapons such as grenades, machine guns, rifles, etc.; sometimes he has a personal teleportation device but he cannot control where it sends him, and he has also been seen carrying a holographic projector machine that can create disguises

Additional Information: Deadpool is fluent in Spanish, Japanese, German, Russian, and many other languages.

Somehow I doubt that they'd be friends, given Dante's words to Jester in DMC3...
"I see... thanks. ——You still piss me off, though."
"I told you before—I don't like anyone with a bigger mouth than mine."
I think Dante would just find him to be an annoyance and want to get rid of him. Jester and Deadpool aren't "cool", they're annoying and crazy, so Dante wouldn't want to hang out with them.

VERDICT
On account of Deadpool being severely outclassed in strength, speed, firepower, and likely skill (let's face it, Dante has absolutely insane skills in combat); being unable to kill Dante due to the latter's rapid regeneration; and Deadpool himself being capable of being killed at least semi-permanently by means of completely destroying his body (such as by burning it to ash or vaporizing it), the win ultimately goes to Dante. Even if Dante can't semi-permanently kill him and Deadpool continues coming back, Deadpool doesn't have a real chance of defeating Dante either. So without contriving the setup in such a way that gives him a significant unfair advantage, Deadpool would be "killed" every single time he confronts Dante in battle, making him the loser. Additonally, Dante can "seal" people and demons away, so he can probably win by means of "battlefield removal" if he can't defeat Deadpool some other way.

—Dante wins!

Thank you, I aim to please.

While I admit it isn't impossible for Deadpool to beat Dante, it's highly improbable, even over the course of multiple battles. The difference in their abilities is just too great.
