Ponyville has had to deal with many a mysterious phenomenon. What they have not faced yet is something that will affect their everyday lives on as large a scale as this.

An increasing number of inhabitants experience sudden unpredictable changes in height. Some wake up shrunk, other grow gigantic while walking around town.

Players can sign up in this thread. Tonight (American time) I shall give everypony their starter size.
No control is allowed over when and how your alterations take place.
Describe your actions and interactions with the ponies around you. The Mane 6 and shopkeepers are not allowed to be directed by you since they serve to the entirety of the players.
They will provide aid in any way they can but are needed in so many places that unless you are content to spend time with them without interaction then you should find another partner.
The exception is if a player takes up the role of a main character. PM me. All main characters are open but the royal ponies.

All canon races are allowed. No Mary Sues or blends of several races. Alicorns are not a race, but a status. Take something that you could reasonably expect to encounter in Ponyville. Diamond Dogs, Griffins, Zebra’s, etc. Go nuts and describe who you are and what you are doing when the change hits you.

A magically amplified announcement is heard over Ponyville. As if Twilight masterd the Royal Canterlot Voice can she be heard all over the town: “Citizens of Ponyville, here speaks the local representive of the Court--Twilight Sparkle. Do not be alarmed, for there is no reason to panic.
A living spell has invaded Ponyville and has affected ponies at random. This spell appears to be a size changing spell and will alter a pony’s stature.
If you find yourself, or a victim around you affected, please try to contact the hospital, the mayor, or me.

I repeat that there is no reason to panic. We have the best Unicorns working on finding a solution and never in history has a spell be unable to reverse. We are working as hard as we can, however we are understaffed and unable to provide direct assistance. If you are affected then try to find a friend or relative to take care of you.
Food and sleeping accommodations have been prepared outside of Ponyville for those too large to enter town.

Pay close attention to the following guidelines, even if you have no need for them yet.

Please take good care of where you step or sit in order to not accidentally crush anypony.

Shrinking spells increase durability relative to the shrinking as matter compresses, but there are limits.

Growing spells are a bit more problematic. As you may know: Large creatures are often lethargic as they will experience their bodies feeling heavy and easily overheated. This is no cause for alarm as Ponyville is surrounded by bodies of water and mountains with cool air.

Food and beverages will be no issue either as everything you ingest will be affected as well. For air we shall provide everypony with Aquatic Adaptation spells and Reinforcement spells.

Please be supportive and help each other in these trying times. We apologize that we can not give you neither more information or personal assistance as all the influential ponies of Ponyville are hard at work trying to find a remedy.

Please take your time reading these final rules.

1) Away from keyboard: Whenever you have to leave for an extended time let your partners know and make sure that they can continue the story until you come back. Since we’re all bronies with similar interests you can feel safe to let others act out your character. If you do not like this loss of personal input then let your character make an excuse for the absence. Your character could be tired, or leaves to get a drink or something.

2) Streamline the thread: Greetings and farewells are only polite, but please post Ooc comments in the Sign Up thread. Otherwise the story will be cluttered and hard to read. Remember that you can link directly to comments even if they are from another thread.

3) Teen rating: There will be NSFW side-thread for those who want some private time. This thread is open to all and we have to respect everyone’s wishes. Your characters can rejoin each thread whenever you like.

4) Be respectful to your partners: This about sums it up. The rejection of fully functional alicorns and half-breeds falls under this as well. As soon as someone is superior to another then there is a good chance of envy or even jealousy. The two “pegacorns” of this thread are fine. Having the features of an alicorn is okay, just pick which half is functional. Pegasi-magic can levitate objects so a horn won’t be missed, while wings can be extra appendages. But please don’t add more.

You are in the arcade. Not long after hearing the public announcement you and several ponies around you have started to change size. Some of the bystanders seem horrified, others amazed. What will you do now?

Giga Pixel / I can not believe my eyes. The entire world is expanding around me. Some ponies seem to grow faster then others, while one seems to go the other way and shrink with me.

When the shrinking stops I find myself at three inches tall. What should I do now? I can’t just close the arcade, I have a duty to my fellow gamers here and Twilight assured us that everything will be fine.

Some ponies pay their sympathies to me, but I brush them off and fly to the microphone.

It is a little hard to use at this size but eventually my voice sounds on the speakers: “Attention everypony. Like Pinkie Pie always says: “No reason why we can’t have fun.” The arcade will remain open during the crisis. And let me quote my old man: “When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Be free and make lemon grenades.”

After trying to adjust this temporary shrunk state and failing, I hired a assistant to help me out
after me and my normal sized lackey did the job, I decided to have fun with my size .. first, My assistant and I decided to do air hockey with me riding the puck and to my amusement it's about as fun as a carnival ride.. next, I decided to goof off at a Skee Ball game by balancing on a Skee Ball like a rubber ball - while fun at first, my temporary assistant couldn't resist to play the game and his ball knocked me off

The assistant alerted me of who infected me - namely the neighborhood brats, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.. but i couldn't do a thing at this size for that night

The next day, The brats tried to bust in but luckily for me the size virus is working in my favor but i have to storm out of my arcade before i destroy it as i grew and grew into a giant and from how enormous i became i was relieved i wasn't huge enough to destroy the whole town or the planet.. never the less, I must teach them a lesson.
after cornering them, the first thought was to squish them but 2 people came to my aid Shadow and Hoof Held .. they did their comeuppance for me by giving the same pill that shrank me to Diamond Tiara and Hoof shrank Silver Spoon to the size of a grasshopper

after that they ran away, the punishment is done - but alas I'm stuck as a giant until a cure is found :(

I started to stutter, as everything around me seems to shrink? As I reached the hight of Princess Celestia and still become larger, my mind shnapped out of its shock!

Shocked, I do the first thing that comes to my mind. I was looking for help!

First Pony who cames to mind was Giga Pixel and so I looking for her. Oh sweet Celestia! I leave my Flower store for one time this week, to play some Arcade game and THIS happend to me! Well, thanks to my now longer legs I reached the last spot, where I saw Giga Pixel.

To my horror I realize that she probably killed some ponies under her enormous body. Especially other shrinkees. I had no idea that warning the victims would cause them to use it carelessly.

Giga on her back and spend the limitations at a dance club where they met a Bouncer with problems of his own, The size virus shrank him to no bigger than a filly while wearing his now over sized and baggy tuxedo

Most stories die out because the players either don’t reply in time, or they force the story and other people don’t get to play anymore. Then they get bored and leave.

I won’t post in this thread for about five hours because I’m going to sleep. Please respect each other and try to keep it realistic. If you would do this in real-life they would put you in quarantine.
