For me, I think it gave us the most world building of any Monster Hunter. Having you play as Geralt, an outsider of the series allowed him to ask questions that the other characters wouldn't otherwise. Also, that Pukei-pukei sidequest dude, absolute heartstring tugger.

I loved it but I only learned of the pukei sidequest until after I beat the quest
