Are there any stories that depict Luna as still evil after S1E1? Either doing something genuinely heinous in the story (whether the author intended it or not) or turning into Nightmare Moon again? There are numerous stories that handle the idea of Celestia being a tyrant in the present or the past, but I've only stumbled across a few (like The Code's Apprentice and The Devil's Trick) that feature an evil Luna. I'm curious to see how this idea is executed, the directions it's taken, and if they differ from stories where Celestia is the evil sister.
Also, not sure if any admin noticed this -- the picture at the center of the group doesn't load. It's a broken image. Someone should fix that.

In Long Live Twilight Sparkle she becomes Nightmare Moon along with Celestia becoming Daybreaker after Princess Dark Matter blows a mist at them that forces them to become their dark sides, while in The Inconnvenient Truth she does become Nightmare Moon, but there is no explanation to how that happened.

Well... I suppose mine count. Although the plot is more complicated than Luna being evil. Essentially Luna and NMM are two entirely different ponies(?) stuck inside a single body and they agree to share it. Which leads to NMM convincing Luna to go against Celestia all over again, except this time NMM wins.
Luna is morally good, but has very low self-esteem; NMM on the other hand is extremely confident and capable, but her idea of ruling a nation is medieval due to being stuck on the moon for a 1000 years.
Neither of them is outright evil in absolute terms, but NMM does a lot of evil for what she sees as the proper way of things and Luna enabled her to do that by letting her take over their body. Not entirely what you asked for, but folks been saying it's pretty good, so yeah.

Unfortunately, that is always the case for Luna. As long as she continues to have such negative emotions, Nightmare Moon will always exist. Since MLP is known for not giving backstories, I was under the impression that her dark side was kept a secret ever since she returned and probably for her sake. Something tells me that it wouldn't resonate well with the rest of the ponies if they knew, and they would even question Celestia to why she even lets Luna still sit beside her on the throne despite almost wanting to kill her. Believing that is what got me do that fanfic known as Luna Comes Clean, and you can picture her talking to Megan in a sad voice in the second chapter especially when she has to tell her what it was like to be in that form, though Megan feels that Luna living with the secret most likely hurts her in the long run rather than help her.
