I'm probably giving up songwriting permanently · 5:44pm Oct 19th, 2022
The reason being that after years of trying to think of some great lyrics and music for them (and reading a lot both yesterday and somewhat today), I've finally realized that most of the concepts and ideas that I've made over the years were bad and not as well-thought-out as I thought. Not just for songwriting, but for writing in general. While there is a possibility that I might get back to writing after I take a possibly indefinite break, I'm not sure when or how.
I'm not doing this for attention. I just wanted to let you all know what's going on in my head right now. This isn’t supposed to be sad or guilt-ridden either.
This is also mostly about my ideas and concepts being bad rather than my writing.
Anyway, thank you for reading this, have a great day, and sorry to anyone who's mad or upset about my decision.
I dont think any of your ideas are bad. What I really think the problem is you lack inspiration. Look for your muse. The motivation and inspiration to delve deep into yourself and keep going. It might take awhile but that is what you should do.
Your ideas are only bad if you see them as being bad.
Take some time for yourself and find your muse, we’re here for you every step of the way.
I think as an artist you can feel stuck, I've been there. It's okay to take a break. I find that writing prompts, music prompts and drawing prompts help with creative prompts. Those might help you as well. :3
