Make Your Mark Episodes: My thoughts · 6:30pm Oct 3rd, 2022
So, make your mark aired a week ago on Netflix and i must say that it isn't as bad as it was on the 1st 45 minutes we got presented on May 26th. So what do i think about the series... find out down here now.
Animation
Gotta be Honest, animation can become better with some time; it is slightly better than in the special but it still have some problems like manes, lights, facial expressions... things that make it a bit hard to look in some moments specially because lips, eyes have too much lighting in dark backgrounds or dark rooms and that may be not the best to bring the attention to.
It needs some work, but still is better than we got several months back and even being behind movie's style.
Voice Acting
With this i'm going to be simple, almost everyone does a great job with the acting, Zipp has won my trophy for best voice in the series so far; and for the worse voice... Sparky; why that voice, it's too deep for a baby dragon and it's awkward to hear him in most scenes; is not the voice i expected for a baby dragon; the rest are ok and makes you feel the emotions they do show on screen with laughs, evilness and everything they have in their hooves. Voice is solid, except for Sparky; he needs to get way better.
New Characters
- Opaline: We still don't know where she came from or why she's an alicorn; it's too soon to get those answers but overall i like her colours and devilous voice. Hope we get answers on her soon, because neither the comics say much on her; all a mistery to be solved.
- Misty: Fan favorite in less than a week, that must be a record. I'm one of those that loved her as she went on screen; specially on the sleepover episode with the Mane 5; her voice is very well done, she's a very good character to follow because i honestly would like her to become part of the main cast and be again another group of Mane 6 as G4 had; 2 of each pony. Of new charactes, Misty has best voice, design and interactions.
Animation can become better, voice acting there's only 1 that needs a bit of a change and the new characters do give a fresh air to the series, with some more love it can be as good as G4 and even better; is not as awfull as many people say... so come on, give them a chance to shine.
My score for them is 8/10 and i'm being generous.
