It actually feels lately like I've been crawling out of a pit? So maybe there's a light ahead? But it's also blocked by Balatro lol somepony save me D:

The only other thing relevant to this blog is that I've had notes for a vs. post sitting in my notes document for probably the entire month now, what is wrong with me? D:

Fic recs, April 22nd: Jordan179 edition

Once again, though a good bit late, I bring it upon myself to memorialize an author via reviews of their stories. Though this time, it's different, as I had no connection to Jordan179 and only learned of his passing (three years ago this month, coincidentally), from this post

Another post about video games and Youtube and stuff

If I'm going to waste time watching shit on Youtube, the least I can do is tell people about it. :P

Ceave is a crazy Austrian with a love of video games and a head for philosophizing about them. Plus he really, really hates coins, no matter how tasty they may look.

Do you like video games? How about philosophy?

I like one of those things for sure, but no one combines the two better than a Youtuber named InfernalRamblings, a former professional game developer who now creates hour and a half long video essays about the meanings of video games and how they relate to the world today. Here's a few highlights, since this is now basically my only

Present Discovers Twilight Discovers Literary Analysis · 1:08pm Dec 13th, 2012

http://www.fimfiction.net/story/41443/twilight-discovers-literary-analysis

This story has been around for a while, so there's a good chance everyone has read it, but if you haven't, I highly recommend it. It's a delightful mind screw.

Again, I heard it rather than read it, so I can't comment on the quality of the writing, should such a thing come into question, but just go read it, or look for Atylonisus' reading on YouTube. This story absolutely blew my mind.

On an unrelated note, my to-read is up over 400 now. ;_; And I've been reading stuff now and again!

I have a solution to your bulky to-read list.

What you do is,

you throw it away

because reading is for losers.

Oh gosh I love that one! :D

Just out of curiosities, why do you listen to so many readings instead of reading?

I don't have a lot of time to read.

It's basically one hour a day on the weekend, or any day that I don't have work, assuming I don't sleep in too long on a day when there's ponies. If I had an e-reader of some sort, I could maybe expand on that, but I don't, so I can't.

So I listen to readings on YouTube while I'm in the bath. I do this twice daily, for the most part, because I work in a very dirty facility. This is also why I tend to prefer poor-quality readings, because I can hear someone gargling their microphone over the water a little better.
