Speaking of which, when it comes to the arrows, I'm gonna be adding some realism to it. Let's be real, shooting a Dodo with a Tranq Arrow only for it to literally go through its head, yet the creature still walks around as if nothing happened, would be strange. Of course, it's likely game limitations, but I think we can do away with that for the story.
If they shoot a Dodo and the arrow goes through its head, that Dodo's dead. Better off not using an arrow at all.

Great. Now I'm imagining conversations between our main characters about the importance of focusing fire on the meaty part of a dino's ass, only for it to be pointed out that they'll have to dig the arrows back out. Or expressing the concern that when the dino goes down, they might land on the arrows and drive them deeper into their sides.
Or trying to tame an ankylosaurus and having to deal with the tranq arrows actually ricocheting off of their shell plating, and potentially hitting an unintended targer.

Precisely! Tranq Arrows are actually incredibly dangerous, and I've personally accidentally killed dinos I've tried to tame with it. Therefore, Tranq Darts will be their go-to.
I've even decided to incorporate elements of the Immersive Taming mod along with some of my own methods that I think fit, and are plausible. Of course, the OG way of taming will always be here.
