It seems to have come together rather nicely in the end, settling in at not far under 12k words with more likely to be added before it goes live. I think with this one, readers will like the coda as much as the main action, and there’s a good measure of side action in here as well that might set the stage for future bonus material. At this point, it’s waiting for feedback from the commissioner and my prereading team. Best guess for launch is Tuesday or Wednesday night, depending on how fast I get that feedback returned and make whatever changes needed.
I think folks will find the final ascension chapter suitably satisfying, both on an M-rated level and in terms of its denouement. Expect some cameos from familiar faces as well through a surprise method. After this, all that remains is the epilogue chapter, which shouldn’t take me long to finish. I’ll set a projected release date of Sunday, September 18th for that one.
Don’t worry, it will be M-rated as well, if only partially. It will be set a week after these events so you get to see what happened in the immediate aftermath and how our newly ascended goddesses are now doing. Spoiler: They’re enjoying their powers, but also rediscovering and appreciating far simpler pleasures like being simple burger-eating teenagers again.
Needless to say, thanks for all your patience on this one as Twilight’s ascension ballooned far past what it was originally supposed to be. No regrets, though, not even for as much grief as it occasionally caused me, trying to get it right. You be the judge as always whether I succeeded, and look for the launch around midweek.
After this, a new chapter of Feathered Hearts - Continuation and Chronicles is in the offing, followed by work on Unleash the Magic. If I come back to do bonus material for Harmonic Resonance, it’ll most likely be some months in the future when the mood strikes me.
Regarding the spoiler: I do love a story coming full-circle. Looking forward to the thrilling conclusion. This has been quite the ride.
