In terms of personality, Mothball is very Mirabel. But I can most definitely see how he fits Isabela in terms of background, especially when looking back at your previous post discussing his relationship with his family.

Precisely what I had in mind, personality and self esteem wise definitely Mirabel but puts up a face of perfection and aloofness like Isabela (his entire predicament is essentially the situation she was put in). On the bright side he’s definitely goofier and much more lighthearted with his friends and only puts on the perfect facade when in front of other changelings because ✨reputation✨ And ✨family honor✨

Oh girls definitely caught off guard by it but I don’t think she’d exactly process just how bad it was right away. If anything it’s probably something she realized later on before bed by looking back on his behavior or the few times she met his parents, kinda like connecting the dots before she was like “oh shit… he’s really damaged by it, isn’t he?”
