Abrupt Activity | Updates

Hi, people.

I'm blogging because I've written a lot this last week. Don't get used to it. I'm still on hiatus. I just had the urge to take a break, and writing was that break.

Some good stuff came of it. Diamond in the Rough I'm very pleased with. I like this short, sparse style I'm working with now. It's about the substance, not the prose.

Of course, the downside is that the lack of substance becomes plain as day. Don't expect much in Spike and Twilight Make Pony Top Trumps. I've written it well enough, but it's a bit of fluff. Heck, did I say downside? Make that upside. This style helps me: it exposes useless pap, which I tend to bury beneath elaborate sentences.

I'll Huff and I'll Puff is just a fun exercise like its predecessor, the tonic experiment (which is worth a look). I'm fed up with it already. I'll finish it soon – probably.

Without a doubt the most substantial (though Diamond in the Rough is close) is He Is What He Hides. I wrote the plot two years ago and two weeks ago decided to work on it. I'm doing four chapters at a time. I've published four, and to me they sound great. When I finish the next four, I'll put them out. When I'll finish them I don't know; I haven't started yet.

What's the takeaway here? I'm still into pony – not as fiercely as of old, but I'm still interested in creating around this world. Funny, isn't it – the inspiration MLP generates. A singular phenomenon.

Edit: Oh, I forgot about Black Sheep. This one I'm very pleased with too. It's economical, and I like the plot.
