And this is what happens when a writer gets a mild case of writer's block, but still wants to write. He ends up doing something silly like this. Mares and Gentlecolts, I present to you...
PONYHAMMER!
The game in which cute and colorful ponies beat the crap out of each other.
Yeah, this is something really silly, and probably a bit stupid. But I don't care! It's made so you can play with your little Blind Bag ponies, and not feel like a total wuss. Not that playing with ponies makes you a wuss. But I mean come on! I know you've read and/or written fanfics where ponies take part in really huge, epic battles (Peppy, I'm looking at you...), and now there's rules for you and your friends to recreate them. Sloppy rules, but rules none the less!
This is a pretty raw First Draft. Normally I wouldn't have made something like this public without first working some of the kinks out myself. But in this case, I honestly have no one near by to try and play test this with. So I was hoping that some of you guys out there might be willing to give it a shot, and send me back your input. Tell me what you think, what works and what doesn't, and what you'd like to see me include as the rules are updated. I can't promise I'll include every suggestion I get, but I'll take them all into consideration.
Unfortunately, since it's not a story, I can't post the actual rules up here on FiMFic, and trying to paste them into this blog wouldn't work. The rules are just shy of 6.5K words long. So I've included links where you can view and download the rules on my FurAffinity and InkBunny pages. Just use which ever site you're most comfortable with.
Please, give it a shot and let me know what you think in the comments.
Oh, and in other news.
I'm a couple thousand words into the next chapter of TMV. It's slow going, but it's getting done eventually.
EDIT: Added it to my Google Drive for people to view and comment.

I would find it interesting... if I cared about Warhammer 3000.
That is what's it's referencing, right?
I might give it a try though. 'Cause ponies.

The rules are similar. Actually they're a bit closer to Warhammer Fantasy, but mostly in that it's a miniature game involving the rolling of D6 and miniatures have stats. I was gonna go with 2D6 for everything, but it's a lot faster to just roll 1D6 for each pony in a unit at once rather than rolling 2D6 individually. And six sided dice are easier to find than D20's.
But like I said, these are just first draft rules. They may change if things don't work out.
