The last research paper I worked on has published at last.

The process is REALLY slow. I finished all my work on this 3 years ago.

    https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2316969121

This one uses a lot of my histology and in-situ hybridization with RNAscope results.

But no more science for me. Now I build houses and driveways... and rip them apart too! It's a sort of yin-yang thing I've got going here.

A comedic scene from a new Clouseua story I'm fiddling with...

I just came up with this, and imagining Peter Sellers delivering the line had me laughing for 5 minutes straight.

Clouseau, "For you see, the murderer was... the bullet!"

    Guy in room, "The bullet?"

Clouseau, "Of course, no one would suspect the bullet of firing itself!"

Woman in room, "But that... that's madness!"

THE PIRATE KING BREAKS THE NETFLIX ANIME ADAPTATION CURSE!!!

Only the Pirate King could do it...

It's as good as possible. You cannot do such a goofy anime any better than this, and it's GREAT! I friggin LOVED it.

Last call for Bronycon items up on Ebay!

I'll be delisting all remaining MLP items Sept 1st to focus entirely on selling my huge stash of collectible magazines, which take up vastly more space than the MLP items. Everything here fits into a single flat box I can pick up with one hand. The magazines... weigh over 700 lbs total. Sooooo, kinda makes sense to deal with those ASAP!

My cat Sarah playing with her mouse · 3:17pm Aug 21st, 2022

Sarah's our only cat currently. I saved her from certain death in 2012 when I found her as a tiny kitten on the side of a farm road while I was bicycling. She was severely injured. Something had bitten her and given her serious wounds and she'd somehow clung to life for days or maybe a week or two; and she was barely still alive, struggling to drag herself over to me and crying out with the last of her strength. She was nothing but skin and bones, and that night would have been the first frost of October... it would have been the end of her had I not found her.

https://rumble.com/v1gsv27-missy-sarah-goes-insane-for-toy-mouse.html

It took a lot of work to heal her, and now she's perfectly healthy and happy. However, she is quite frightened of the 'outside', and will barely slink out to the step by the door. Any noise or movement and she darts right back in. She also keeps patches of her body free of fur... the places where she'd been badly injured.

Great to hear she's grown up reasonably healthy

After an experience like that, it's entirely understandable she ended up a fraidy-cat.

"Free of fur"? Does she tear it out?

5681024 She bites it off. Sometimes she'll let it almost completely grow back, then start 'barbering' again.

In my old lab, we see that with mice that have anxiety disorders.

5680950 5680956 I forgot to put the link in to the video. :P

I just love she puts like no effort into actually getting the mouse. She just lays at the bottom of the stairs and flails then goes "mouse gone. Up there, not worth time. Time for bath... oh, mouse! Bath done. Ok, bored now. Nap."

In my old lab, we see that with mice that have anxiety disorders.

They're going to be hacked up for the betterment of giant apes and even if they aren't, I'd imagine they'd be culled eventually. I'm surprised they don't all have anxiety. Or are they all aware of it, those are just the non Zen ones?:rainbowhuh:

5681851 The mice really don't have any awareness. They have smooth brains, with exceedingly limited processing capabilities.

You can create anxiety in them by tweaking very specific genes, and they all exhibit the same symptoms. They're basically little biological robots, made to breed as quickly as they can before they drop dead in 2 years maximum after birth (the only exceptions being mutant mice which can sometimes last to 3 years old. We had a BPM4 mutant survive to 2.5, then died from cancer).

But yes, Sarah is very lazy. She only plays with the mouse when you make it move. She seems quite aware it's not alive, as she treated a live mouse that got into the house very differently.

Ah, didn't know that. Now I do. Regardless I wouldn't really have a problem, but let me pull a Fooly Cooly on my own brains and play Devil's Advocate.

DuRR buh Alondro, their liveng people! Isnt it imoral to cauz payn to other peepul four hour benefit lyk day done with the cosmetics and aganst da monkeys? id typ moor but I gotta find paul. He cleans my shorts after I mayk my messies from thinking too hard. Bye!

5682047 Mice are not people, they're tasty meat. Like humans! *Alondro devours hyoomans by the millions!!* :pinkiecrazy:

5682052
Seriously though, what do you think about any moral objections to your work?

5682057 Do you REALLY wanna know? I know the things the 'moral objectors' support... they can all drop dead in their hypocrisy.

There is some 'research' that is useless. I consider the old-time tests on makeup worthless, for the sake of sheer vanity in most cases. And naturally, there are experiments which do not have a legitimate purpose other than to satisfy a morbid curiosity or have nebulous aims at best. Such research tends to be conducted outside the USA, since it would be illegal here now... such as 'Saint Fauci' backing all that Wuhan research, and the outlandish torment of dogs with sandflies in Tunisia, despite there being no requirement at all for that testing of a drug meant to be used against parasites carried by the flies.

The research in the lab I used to work in had to have very good justifications for everything, and the mice were kept clean, well-fed, and no more than 5 adult mice per cage. And the research was intended to find treatments for diseases affecting many people, such as osteoarthritis and deafness.

We had to jump through hoops for every single procedure we did, documenting the hell out of every aspect of the experiments.

So, unless the whiners would like to wither away in agony from their various diseases, this research is critical.

BUT, one must always have oversight to ensure cruel and wicked people are not in charge of it... like Fauci... the old bastard who took credit for the work of everyone under him for HIV drug development, while not even himself clearly understanding how different viruses replicated. I could go on about that miserable pompous A-hole for quite some time.

Do you REALLY wanna know?

I do, but its like pulling teeth to get a straight answer from you at times. Methinks being on the webs has made thee a might bitter my good man:duck: Or perhaps no longer have the tolerance to spoon feed the dum dums:ajsmug:

I know the things the 'moral objectors' support... they can all drop dead in their hypocrisy.

Don't hold back on my account my good man.:trollestia:

There is some 'research' that is useless. I consider the old-time tests on makeup worthless, for the sake of sheer vanity in most cases.

Of course one must remember that for these folk its never about utility or morality, is it?

And naturally, there are experiments which do not have a legitimate purpose other than to satisfy a morbid curiosity or have nebulous aims at best.

The research in the lab I used to work in had to have very good justifications for everything, and the mice were kept clean, well-fed, and no more than 5 adult mice per cage. And the research was intended to find treatments for diseases affecting many people, such as osteoarthritis and deafness.

And of such things are purely one sided. If it was a "cure" for toxic masculinity or conservatism, no method is too cruel or severe or price to high

So, unless the whiners would like to wither away in agony from their various diseases, this research is critical.

Mate, they'd happily live in agony if everyone else did as well. Mind it would be of course if they had a bit more then others. I seem to recall from the comic Maus about a fellow that the father shared a barracks with a strident communist and would berate him for not giving all of his scrap of moldy bread to him instead of half because he was a filthy capitalist.

And thats the rub. These people actually don't care about suffering, its about self righteousness. They are in a battle of their own making in their own minds and they are right. Not in the sense of not knowing better or incredulity, but that they are right and if they aren't its because others failed or because they to not allow them to be in charge or doing it their way.

They are more then happy to let others to live in squalor and misery so they can come down from the Ivory Tower to cry their tears and say "be thee warm and clothed and fed" while doing diddly dick to actually help. They wouldn't hesitate to throw you and me into our own Pit Of Despair if it meant a moments assuage of their own insecurity

5682650 And that is why MY Empire shall exterminate them all... FOR THE GREATER GOOD!

I need to stock up on black robes and torches. :pinkiecrazy:

5682653
And theres another thing... there is no greater good for them. At least not really. Communism, ass backwards and degenerate means of economy and philosophy it is, was, and always will be, at least obstensibly aspires towards the betterment of men. If fails, badly, but there is at least something there.

This narcissism lacks even that. They don't actually care about any of it.

Thank you for helping her. :)

5682868 She asked for my help by struggling towards me and crying for aid. How could I turn that down?

5682914
:)

...Why on Earth did someone downvote that comment, though?

5683220 Dog lover, most likely. HISSSSSSSS!!! :trollestia:
