And another 15k words down on Harmonic Resonance between the final two chapters, with another 3500 down on Feathered Hearts. I’ve been a busy boi, but neither is near ready for release. It’s possible at this point that the last Harmonic Resonance ascension chapter will have to be split again and end up being a three-parter, but we’ll see what shape it’s in as I get closer to done with it.
So what’s the issue there? Twilight’s ascension is the climactic story arc, and I’m basically trying to do this so there’s a very unique Midnight-vs-Twilight dynamic at play throughout it as they argue and fight for control in a rather surprising manner, only to finally accept and reconcile, fusing into one being that’s midway in personality between the two. You’ll learn some surprising (and quite sexy) things about Twilight, and there will be a bit of twist ending. In some ways, this will be a shortcut version of the planned conclusion of Nightmare Night, which will have a similar dynamic.
As for Feathered Hearts, the new chapter—which I’ll now aim for an end-of-month release—will heavily incorporate the last third or so of chapter 9 of the original story as our heroes try to escape from Bale to at least temporary safety at Aricia, while the first two-thirds of the original text will be saved for a later chapter and heavily modified when included. Plans not yet mentioned for the story including bringing the long-mentioned and as-yet unseen Harpies into the verse in a surprising manner, with some requisite badassery along the way.
In case folks haven’t figured it out by now, I’m going to give everyone a chance to shine, whether it’s the Marines, the civilians, the griffies, the Ibex, the Princesses, Starlight Glimmer or the Harpies. Each will get their turn in the combat spotlight and the chance to showcase fully what they can do. This is basically a world war at this point, as even old foes know there’s no remaining neutral or waiting to see what happens. Either the Cloven are crushed, or they all die.
Anyway... though I hoped to have the next Harmonic Resonance chapter draft complete this weekend, my best guess is that it will take until next weekend to finish at this point, followed by another week to finish off and post the epilogue chapter. I’ll be working at least occasionally on Feathered Hearts, however, so that will get my attention when I need a break from clop.
As always, all I ask for is your patience as I try to figure things out in what’s proving to be a very difficult and complicated Harmonic Resonance chapter and turn out my usual level of content, both for it and Feathered Hearts. Believe me, nobody wants to get the former finished and the latter posted for readers more than me. But I refuse to publish anything that isn’t finished or otherwise up to my usual standards, so please bear with me until then.
Thanks for the update!
I really should get around some time to read harmonic resonance.

You’re welcome! And you should. it’s a story commission that’s best described as a shorter and only slightly-less-crazy version of Midnight Rising.
