Is Star Wars: Tales of the Empire good?

    I'm genuinely asking.

To be honest with you guys, I'm pretty much done with Disney Star Wars. I've just recently finished watching the series finale of "The Bad Batch" which is a pretty decent show overall. The final season as a whole felt really slow and dull, but it was okay.

My thoughts:

Not nearly as good as Ragnarok, in my opinion, but still pretty enjoyable.

Yeah, the movie has a lot of issues, but I still think it’s pretty good. It really doesn’t deserve the hate it’s getting right now.

The dramatic moments, the action, the visuals, the performances of the actors, the portrayal of Gorr the Godbutcher, and the character development of both Thor and Jane Foster work really well. Unfortunately, the humor is very hit and miss. Sometimes, we get high quality jokes that we normally come across in a Taika Waititi production and other times, we get very juvenile jokes that we come across in most of the animated movies made by Illumination.

I guess the best way to describe the movie is that it excels as an epic fantasy, but also fails miserably as a romantic comedy. The placement of jokes and the inconsistency of their quality creates a tonal inconsistency that ruins several scenes and while some of the other MCU films had the same problem, this one is probably the worst example of it.

Anyway, I would give this film a score of 7/10 overall. Even though Chris Hemsworth may soon retire from playing Thor, I would actually like to see him pick up the hammer for one more movie and judging from the mid-credits scene, we might eventually get that movie.
