Nerdy Gaming Rant Time! · 12:48am Jun 4th, 2022
So I finally made the time, and looked at the first two 'IGN First' videos for Sonic Frontiers.
Here's what I think happened: Sonic Team took a pair of really shitty binoculars, looked across the street into Nintendo's office while they were making Breath of the Wild, and went "ooh, let's do that."
The last two years of Sonic content has been absolutely phenomenal. Let's recap:
Record-breaking film.
Legendary 30th anniversary concert.
Record-breaking film #2.
What looks to be a solidly remastered Genesis collection in just under three weeks.
Now I know the community would love for Frontiers to be a hit and have 2022 be Sonic's best year in recent memory, but let's not kid ourselves; what is more likely is the end of the year going to go out with a dud instead of a bang because once again, it's Sonic Team's turn at bat, and they still don't have a damned clue, because they've made exactly one and a half good games in the past 16 years.
Lol, I mean, you could've said that a year ago, before there was any gameplay footage, and it still would've been accurate. Speaking of things you could say before gameplay video, Ian Flynn's supposed to be working on it, so I'd like to assume that the story will be good at least. Control seemed to be just fine (insofar as you can tell from footage of a game still under development). Mostly, what I thought to myself as I was watching them (especially the first one) was that the world seemed empty. I hope that's just a result of whatever beta build they ran to record gameplay, but with Breath of the Wild, there were secrets and goodies everywhere in that game. And I mean everywhere. It wasn't just 'go here and look at the scenery porn' (I mean, BotW has that too).
I'd like to assume that the worst thing the game will be is just okay, although that can be disappointing in its own right. I can be cautiously optimistic, but I'll still wait until after I see some decent reviews before I reach for my wallet.
Sorry but I don’t take premature judgement seriously.

And I don't spend $60 on something that doesn't look fun.

That's my plan too.
If it's half-decent, I might wait for a sale. There are plenty of other games to play, and then the first quarter of 2023 is going to come with so much more.

While I'm going to assume that Sonic Frontiers will be full price, that is the one thing I will give credit to Sonic Forces for. At least it was only $40 at launch. Still didn't get it though.

I got it for $10 a couple years ago and beat it in four hours.
Music was amazing, Tails was criminally OOC, and Infinite was some of the worst wasted potential in the franchise.
When will Sonic Team and Sega learn? This is probably going to be yet another game lost due to crunch and the need to meet some arbitrary deadline. How many times does this have to blow up in their faces before they understand that Sonic and crunch do not go well together? Fans are willing to wait if it means we get a quality game, especially if you're gonna charge full price for it.

I know that what you show the world as a demo or trailer is almost an entirely separate team that prioritizes stability above everything else, but my issue is that nothing in these videos has looked fun.
The game in an online casino is far more captivating. Actually, everything is dependent on two factors: good fortune and accurate computation. I can speak for myself when I say that your choice of slots also affects a lot. This presents another another issue. But because to the knowledge I found at https://pokiesman.com/aristocrat/ about slots from the maker Aristocrat, I now know more. You should familiarize yourself with the specifics, in my opinion.
I personally liked the game interesting and exciting! I play it every day if it were not for my studies in cosmetic surgery here plastic surgery would play it day and night!

Um, the game is not even out yet. How are you playing it?
