This is a bit tmi, but I'm having the weirdest existential crisis · 7:26am May 27th, 2022

Today my mom dropped the bomb that I was circumcised as a baby. My entire life I thought they were suppose to look like that but turns out... guess I don't watch enough gay porn.

How old are you?

Yeah, they circumcised basically everyone of certain age groups, so a lot of porn is going to show circumcised weiners too.

Oh yeah, Americans just randomly started doing that in the 1800s because they thought it stopped masturbation. It didn't, obviously, but American doctors just sorta kept doing it. In Europe, Asia, Latin America and basically everywhere else, circumcisions are actually pretty rare. Cept maybe Israel... for obvious reasons.

23. I haven't seen enough penises in my lifetime, apparently.

You might be able to relate to Patrick Stewart. He had the reverse scenario:

Nifty Rainwing profile pic, by the way!

Heya, like your stuff!

And thanks. It's Glory, if you couldn't already tell. Good to know that there are people that like Wings of Fire besides someone in my friend group that I recommended the book to.

Ah yes, the Sassy Queen. :trollestia: Wasn't sure if it was her, specifically.

I like the Wings of Fire series well enough, though it isn't quite my favourite dragon series. I feel like it occupies a weird spot where there's a lot of serious, horrible stuff happening in the world, but at the same time, it's written like a whimsical 'Harry Potter, but for dragons' kind of story.

Honestly, I prefer it more than the Harry Potter series. The world-building is so much simpler, doesn't convolute itself, and the story is kept interesting through the various characters. As much as I would also prefer a more adult series, I'm pretty satisfied with how it's turn out so far. That, and Deathbringer is way more interesting of a villain than Voldemort.

What is your favorite dragon series, btw?

Heh, this is actually what bugs me about the series. For a world ruled by dragons, their infrastructure and craftsmanship feels a little too human-like for me.

Ooh, can't really pick an absolute favourite, but I've got a top three, in no particular order: Temeraire by Naomi Novik, Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, and The Age of Fire by E.E. Knight.

Lol, MLP is way worse when it comes to human-like world-building. Wings of Fire can get away with it more since all of the characters have mandibles. I think Tui T Sutherland is aware of the world-building issue, because Arc 3 is particularly heavy with it.

Also, just realized that I called Deathbringer the main villain. I meant Darkstalker. Lol

Temeraire by Naomi Novik, Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, and The Age of Fire by E.E. Knight.

As a scaley, I'm legally inclined to check those out. Still have to go through the Eragon series, though. Tales of Earthsea was also recommended to me.

True, but MLP has quite a different tone and medium. By virtue of being a cartoon, they can get away with hooves doing things that normally require opposable thumbs. :derpytongue2:

Please do! They are a must for any dragon enthusiast. :pinkiehappy:

Ah yes, Eragon has a special place in my heart for being the gateway book to fantasy and my obsession with dragons.

The later books kind of soured on me, unfortunately. I had trouble getting past Paolini's increasing penchant for purple prose and excessive use of the word 'aye' (seriously, it's like it suddenly became his favourite word because nearly every character started using it when they previously hadn't). Also didn't quite agree with his treatment of the villain and the conflict resolution, to the point where I couldn't bring myself to pick up the last book after someone spoiled the ending for me. :fluttershbad:

Incidentally, The Dragonriders of Pern is most likely what inspired Paolini's concept of dragons bonding with humans, so if you like that kind of relationship in Eragon, you'll probably like the Pern series, too. It's sci-fi rather than fantasy, though.
