Status update, and news on (potential) new stories... · 6:26pm May 1st, 2022
Well... I apologize for giving yet another one of these, but as it turns out... I don't exactly have the best of news right now when it comes to updates on my writing.
For what it's worth, I did manage to make a bit of progress on my Revamp/Addendum of It's About Time... but in a way, me making that progress only led to me getting even more work to do on that storyline, because once I developed the idea past a certain point, I realized that it would likely need a full-length story to get the proper breathing room it deserved, given that it brings certain implications that would lead to a bit too much of 'sweeping stuff under the rug' or something equivalent if they were just brushed aside.
The original entry is still coming out, and it's still coming out as part of Chapters of a Revamped Tome. However, I think I'll also be writing an independent story (so far tentatively titled Revamped Tale: A Matter of Time), which basically is a full-fic revamp of It's About Time as it took place in that universe.
Honestly, at this point, I legitimately wonder if my writing suffers from some form of the greed-induced bigness dragons have or if I'm just too ambitious for my own good when it comes to my work, because instead of being good at continuing with works I have already started, I seem to only be better at expanding works that I already got started on...
Either way... regarding another story set in the same universe... I seriously doubt I'll succeed, and I honestly am not entirely sure of whether I should do it in the first place, but it's possible that in the next few weeks, before the G5 special comes out on Netflix, I'll be writing a oneshot regarding how G5 stuff fits in the universe of Chapters of a Revamped Tome and associated stories.
To make one thing clear, I don't have much in the way of actual problems with G5 so far. I know it's still early on to give it final judgement, and I am willing to give G5 a fair chance. And while I did notice a few inconsistencies, I did like A New Generation overall.
That said... whether I write this fic I mentioned or not, G5 isn't 'fanfic-canon' to Chapters of a Revamped Tome and associated stories, simply because I am pre-emptively cutting my losses regarding any stuff I have planned that may be disproven or contradicted or anything else by G5. I may one day write fics set in G5 canon, but it will be in a separate fic-verse.

It's never any fun having multiple plates spinning at the same time, especially when more start spinning on you. Do what you think is best for your stuff, and take the time you need.

Too true. I want to say I hope I won't get more plates spinning, but given how today went in my conceptual work for this fic universe, that just seems wishful thinking. XD
That said, thank you for the advice and for the support. :) Hopefully I'll be able to not get any more plates spinning until I manage to put a few down.
