MLP and Steven Universe's Usual Redemptions In a Nutshell · 7:16pm Apr 25th, 2022
A villain or antagonist who goes against the heroes but has a sad backstory that makes everything okay and the heroes are going to use talk-no-jitsu to resolve the conflict in a short amount of time until they get redeemed with little to no consequences for their actions.
I just wanted to add some comedy in one of my blogs. If I did something wrong by making this, please let me know.
This lacks comedy, but it’s still fairly accurate.

Thanks.
Ironic, considering the bulk of MLP reformations.
But even MLP know that not every villain will be reformed or can be saved unlike Steven universe where everyone reforms regardless of character.

And yet MLP still reformed it's version of Trigon. What does that tell you?
5653294
No, it didn't. Tirek was turned to stone along with Chrysalis and Cozy Glow.
5653298
I refer to the world altering threat who plunges the world into a inhospitable Wasteland. Tirek is more like discount Dracula than anything.
5653294
Tirek? Cause he didn't reformed.

Are you talking about Discord, Pony of Shadows, or Starlight Glimmer?

Discord. Discord threatened to plunge Equestria into a chaotic wasteland on multiple occasions. Tirek merely sucks the magic out of people.
5653306
Discord. There's a argument for all three of those, but Discord was written as the remorseless sadist, so he wins the grand prize.

Yeah, I never really got why he was reformed in the first place. I mean, I know Celestia says that she thinks Discord's magic can be used for good, but there is no explanation on why she thinks it can be used for good. He's never shown any remorse for his actions, is a skilled manipulator, and can warp the very fabric of reality with a single demented thought.
5653310
Exactly. Plus she never really tries to get him to anything good, before or after Tirek.
She's content not to ask him for anything, despite that being the whole reason he was set free in the first place.

I can count at least a dozen incidents that threatened to destroy the entire world and could've been easily solved if Discord were called in to help out.
