One one hand, Superman is the ultimate socialist fantasy. It's all about the person with power wanting to help their community without expecting anything in exchange. And in the reverse, it's something he choses to do. It's not out of guilt from not saving his father from death, nor out of fear from what happened to the world he lost, nor some kind of quasi-religious allegory (though there are some mythical elements to the concept). Overall, Superman is simply a very strong guy who just helps others the best he can, all because it's the kind thing to do

That's why being the "Champion of the Oppressed" should always be an essential part of Superman's characterization. No matter how indestructible he can be, if he isn't a person out to help and protect everyone, then he isn't Superman.

On the other hand, Clark is totally a himbo. He's tall, tough and has a square jaw, while also being a soft, loving guy. He's the kind of guy who has no trouble going out of his way to make others feel good. And he's known for being lovably clumsy despite also being very competent at whatever he does.

Note: himbo in the "Kronk from Emperor's New Groove" or "Scorpia from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" way.

Yes, many people fail to realize this about Superman. He doesn't need a compelling or tragic motivation to do good, doing good is his motivation. He does what he does because it's the right thing to do. He has a genuine and selfless desire to help others.

That's... Quasi-religious. Sorry. I'll stop now.:facehoof:

That's why this is my favorite scene for modern Superman. He saves a kid, makes sure everyone's alright, and even smiles.

Whoops! In Spanish is with 'c', and pronounces the same, so I got them mixed. Thanks for the heads-up.
