So this just came to mind and I thought itd be funny to share. I dont think id put it in the fic, so consider it an outtake of a sort I suppose.
They watched Perry drag himself back on shore, shaking the water mostly off himself before flopping sullenly onto the ground, his wings limp and glistening wet to either side of him on the grass.
"I thought platypus were able to swim." Candace said uncertainly, earlier irritation and worry gone as she stared.
Perry sighed, glowering a little at Doofensmirtz like this was his fault, as Phineas cocked his head, "Didnt whatever spy school you went to teach swimming?" he asked, sounding still just a bit angry despite the situation.
Doofensmirtz hummed, before he brightened and hopped in place, "Oh, they didnt teach you that did they, Perry the Platypus? Your already knew so OWCA had no reason to teach it. But ponies are different, and so is whatever you are now, your not semi equatic and dont have the instinct to help you!" he said, laughing.
"He's a griffon, and the bird half doesnt seem to be a water type bird. It makes sense in a way if you think about it." Ferb commented, trotting over to Perry as he started to get back up onto his paws, "No extra sensory organs in your bill anymore either."
Perry shook out his wings more forcefully then he meant to and let then snap closed, sighing as he looked at them, "They dont waste time and resources to teach inherent skills." he said awkwardly, still unused to speaking, glancing between Phineas and Ferb, making the explanation into an apology to them.
"Yeah, this is still weird." Candace stated, glancing back to check on the ponies theyd left by the trees on the outskirts of the beach, "You think they know how to swim, can ponies or horses even swim? I feel like I should know this."
"I mean, we dont really need to swim to get that part anyway, I could make a new one. I saw some old arcade things or something just lying around that town. I could take some parts or something and make it work." Doofensmirtz offered, then yelped and ran through the sand and grass as Perry snarled and chased after him. "Use your words, not scary lion growls!" he shouted.
