GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker, and Occasional Singer, keeping you up to date with the latest news for Generation 5 and beyond! As of today, we are less than a week before the YouTube series 'Tell Your Tale' will be set to make it's anticipated debut starting next month. And right now, after a few weeks of speculation as far as what to expect, we have just uncovered a 'trailer' which offers some extra tidbits as far as what to expect for the upcoming series. So before your very eyes, we have a 'trailer' highlighting some upcoming scenes for the new series which can be seen right about... here:
While I'm still not 'entirely' crazy about the use of the animation for the character models, what 'does' strengthen the animation for this series is the presentational value in the backgrounds and just how colorful the series is. If anything, I call this animation a 'slight' step-up from the 'Pony Life' animation we've received previously. I mean when you look at it from one perspective...
Wow... this is 'so' bad...
Anyways, we are given some additional lines from our new cast who have assumed the position of the Mane Five after the film's actors have decided to move on to greener, brighter pastures (And I mean that in an 'economical' sense). Personality wise, they do match what we've come to love about the Mane Five when we were initially introduced to Sunny and her friends. While I'm not entirely settled just yet, the more we get to hear from these kids then the more likely we'll be growing on them over time. Otherwise, as far as the cartoon looks for the eyes, it's definitely not bad. At least not as bad as...
*Shudders* So bad...
Anyways... as we receive more news in light of 'Tell Your Tale', the first of several cartoons to air after the movie, that just leaves another question: What do YOU want out of this show? Five minutes for an episode alone does not sound like it offers enough material to tackle with such a short timeframe. If anything, most fans would rather have had episodes that take up 'eleven minutes' minus the commercial breaks in between. Some would say that we'd be getting a music video 'Equestria Girls' format. If that one scene with Pipp singing with those two ponies is anything, we can definitely expect a ton of songs...

*Takes a breath* Others are actually considering the possibility of a 'long form' adventure to be told in such short segments. While I'm not one to be too 'discouraging', especially if such a 'probability' can be 'possible', I come from a family who tends to see things on a realistic scale. It's not to suggest that it 'can't' be done, but to have the ability to pull it off would pose quite a challenge for the team and they must be fully 'committed' to provide such level of storytelling to prove how much this series means for them as far as G5 is concerned. If anything, we're more than likely going to have to settle with the 'slice of life' format as a means of getting to know the cast better in light of upcoming shorts and series yet to air. As far as how to 'review' each episode when they do come out, it'll be a slight tricky on my part but it's nothing I shouldn't be able to handle. Plus, I don't mind having a little something extra to keep me busy...

Anywayyy...I still dunno how to feel about either of the new show. I am willing to admit, however, it's mostly because I've grown so used to the impressive animation styles the company has used for G4 and the movies that anything more..."flat" seems...not right
The character design is growing on me, background look amazing ,voice actors are doing fine, and FREE cartoon. Only problem is maybe improve the movement and flying a bit.
So Team S.H.I.P.Z is living in the same roof. Boy thing will be very interesting.
I wonder if this canon to the main show?

Luckily, I'm an expert when it comes to multi-tasking. I could be doing one activity and doing some unrelated form of work the next. Hell, I was able to do some typing work on a computer while watching a few movies on my Direct-TV at home. Only to further demonstrate a level of focus I possess.
I can understand the uncertainty as far as this approach to the show. The animation still feels 'flat' in some areas, that in some ways it almost feels like a slight 'step down' from G4's quality. Not to mention, given this is a YouTube series, we've seen so many fan-works involving G4 material retaining the animation that they had and they turned out much better than work from actual companies. Hence why it always arouses the question why it seems fan-work is often better than what actually airs on television. You ever notice that debate?

At least the characters are a slight above the look in 'Pony Life', that's been my 'one' positive note I've made in terms of this series. And as always, I find the animation's greatest strength with this series is how the backgrounds look. And the more I hear these voice actors at work, the more likely I find that the company made the right choice assigning them to assume these roles for G5. And I don't mind the fact that the cartoon series is free, especially given its YouTube (Unless they suddenly make an option where you have to 'buy or rent' just to watch these materials as some movies on YouTube do).
I don't know where that acronym came from to be honest, but it seems to me the group will be staying together as a means of demonstrating their unity as a group. It's like having a co-ed dorm of sorts.
As far as whether this will be 'canon' to the events of the 'movie' and 'Make Your Mark', that's going to be a tricky answer to find. It will have to depend on whether any of the events of this series are referenced or carried out for when G5 goes Netflix with their 'other' series. Otherwise, it'll be like how parts of G4 continued in the comics but they hardly are acknowledged as canon to the run of the show. And even if they do... some plot elements are updated to make it feel more compatible for the television run.

Yeah, I've noticed that before-the animation stuff, never heard of the debates. But I've noticed they often do seem better than the actual company's work

Spectacular blog Drama, still much anticipation from me with this new series and love the new content, i'm very much looking forward to April 7th, will this series be showing on Netflix, YouTube or a different way of access? Anyway stay cool, stay classy as always XD

With each new content unveiled to reveal what this new series has to offer, fans are slowly growing with anticipation for what this has to offer. I think looking back, I failed to realize that this 'Tell Your Tale' series might just be a YouTube series. Unless they start airing the show on Netflix at some point. I do not know for sure. But I'm pretty sure 'this' is just the YouTube run and we'll have 'Make Your Mark' for the Netflix deal. Sound about right?

And the sad thing is that I only 'knew' about this poorly made cartoon because a critic actually reviewed the pilot on YouTube. Got the lowest score as far as reviews go and this is a guy who 'rarely' gives bad reviews.
