    Good news and bad news

First, the good news: my progress with Twisted Metal: Black.

I’ve unlocked all 15 vehicles, obtained all but 2 trophies and unlocked all but 1 level. I have more things to say about the game as a whole.

I saw Fast X two days ago

IMO, the villain is the most interesting one yet.

    Why?

The trailers don’t really show it, but he’s pretty much Fast and Furious’ version of The Joker (though unlike Joker, he has a clearly defined backstory and motive for targeting the hero): funny and frightening, able to switch between them in the blink of an eye when he’s not being both at the same time.

I’ve turned 25 years old today

And because I can’t resist saying it:

”I’ve got something funnier than 24.”

    “What?”

    “25.”

    Enjoy the Silence

I first heard this song in an episode of Top Gear, but never knew the name of it until earlier this year.

0:42-0:59 - watching Clarkson blast around the track, in the rain, at the wheel of a bright red Volkswagen Golf.

    Enjoy the silence…

Twisted Metal: Black vehicle concept art · 11:26pm Mar 29th, 2022

Here’s an interesting fact about the development process of the Twisted Metal games: the vehicles are created first, and the drivers second.

So, while we all wait for me to resume writing Twisted Magic: Black, here are some (but not all) vehicle concept arts of Twisted Metal: Black; some of these vehicles never made it into the game, while others did, but with different designs.

All of the pictures in this post are by Lee R. Wilson.

Brimstone

My favorite detail in these two pieces of art is the windshield: it actually has the image of two faces in it. The first piece also has a crescent moon in the window. Neither of these details made it into the game, however.

The cross (concept art)/stake (in-game) on Brimstone’s hood doesn’t affect ramming damage; as the second piece shows, it instead serves as the launch point for its Special Attack.

Darkside

This art of Darkside has a decidedly Mad Max aesthetic. It ultimately saw many changes, the biggest of which was changing from a European-style cab-over to a North American-style long-nose.

Crazy 8

Warthog

Manslaughter

Junkyard Dog
