    The End (For Now)

    Hey.

It's been a while since I've done one of these. There's quite a bit to talk about. So, let's get to it, shall we?

Now, to those who have been following me for a while, you might be looking at my latest entry and say, '...really? That's how it all ends? After everything Beatri and pals have been through!? No, that can't possibly be how it ends!'

    Back with an update!

Hi! Sorry for the radio silence. Basically took some time off to figure out some real-life stuff and rearrange my living space. BUT I'm back and ready to conclude Undeath and Rebirth in just two more chapters before focusing my efforts on some projects left in the fridge. Speaking of which, after a long thought process and realization that I no longer have full time or energy to commit to certain

Character Profiles: Oona · 11:07pm Mar 29th, 2022

Lady Ewe

Age 26
Race Sheep
Identity Female
Voice Lisa Hannigan

Dream Faun of the Isles of Pàrras. She is the daughter of the Chieftain, Haden, and sister to Sir Dion. She inherited fae magic from her late mother and is naturally entune to the arcane. An aspect her great uncle, Grogar, tried to exploit before his imprisonment. This would lead Oona down the path of dream magic, becoming a shaman under the mentorship of the Drider, Minerva.

With her trusty dreamcatcher staff in hand, Oona ventured onto Equestria soil under the alias Lady Ewe. There, she played a vital part in retaking the land from the caribou invaders. But her life would forever change upon meeting a little-known mare by the name of Beatrix Belladonna.

The pair began a teacher-student relationship before culminating in romantic feelings. Wise, compassionate, and completely diligent, Oona always offers a guiding hand to those in need.

Her Onoma is named after the Greek God of Dreams, Morpheus, which allows her to enter any dream happening. It also grants her special sight of different types of sleep, manifested by spheres above the dreamer's head. Blue orbs represent normal dreams (or fantasies), golden orbs represent special dreams (memories, visions of things to come, etc), and black orbs represent nightmares (some likely caused by her counterpart, Omen.)

Tropes

  • Action Mom: Shares this role with Beatrix after restoring Abadonna's presence within her own womb.
  • Amicable Exs: Subverted. Oona did not end her relationship with Iclyn on good terms. But she does hope to one day mend what remains of their friendship.
  • Anything That Moves: Downplayed. While nowhere near as promiscuous or libido-driven as her partner, Oona is Pansexual and has engaged with both male and female partners.
  • Badass Adorable: She's a cute, kind-hearted sheep that is fully capable of knocking you out cold!
  • Badass Pacifist: Has a strong distaste for violence and relies on putting her foes to sleep to end fights as quickly as possible.
  • Battle Couple: With Beatrix.
  • Barefoot Sage: This is mostly due to her lower body being fully sheep-shaped, but it adds to her grace and character.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Has been known to process an incredible talent for singing hymns and songs. Best showcased during Midnight and Cerise's wedding in Dearly Beloved and when Beatrix and friends visit Oona's homeland in Everywhere and Nowhere.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Despite her kind-hearted nature and gentle appearance, Oona does not tolerate any disrespect to her person or those close to her. Zeloph learned that the hard way.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: In a series full of voluptuous women with bountiful assets and hour-shaped figures, Oona stands out as being quite round in the belly and pudgy looking. This doesn't make her look any less attractive.
  • Brother-Sister Team: With Dion, most notably when they fend off an escaped Grogar in Everywhere and Nowhere.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Her first encounter with the Nightmare Stag ended with this.
  • Catchphrase: Often exclaims "Sweet Lucid Dreams!" when astonished or having an epiphany. May also shout this during coitus.
  • Childhood Friends Romance: With Iclyn. The Jakcobson tribe and Deighdyr formed a truce after battling the Caribou, which allowed plenty of summers and winters where the chieftain's daughters spent a lot of time together. Sadly a subverted trope as their romance withered due to Oona eventually leaving the isle after rejecting Iclyn's proposal.
  • Cosmic Reset: Is ultimately responsible for rewriting the multiverse when she, Beatrix, and Omen conspire to change Abby's destiny for destruction by inseminating her essence into the azure sheep.
  • Dark is Not Good: For most of Fire and Shadow, she kept warding the remorseful Sombra way from Beatrix due to firmly believing in this trope. This becomes incredibly ironic considering Zeloph (a literal angel) was the one manipulating Sombra and her later fascination with the Nightmare Stag. Thanks to Beatrix, she grows out of this mindset.
  • D-Cup Distress: Has stated a handful of times that she does not like the attention her F-size cups bring. Most of Oona's wardrobe consists of clothing to preserve her modesty. Mostly because, upon hitting puberty, the males that made fun of her weight then started gawking at her. That being said, she does like having her breasts played with during intimacy.
  • Different Priorities Breakup: This is why she and Iclyn are estranged. Iclyn wanted them to become 'Matanam's and preserve the peace between their respective tribes. But Oona felt that whatever feelings they once shared had fizzled out due to the doe's growing aloofness. Not only that, she was about to set sail for Equestria to offer spiritual help. And things only got worse from there when the Wendigos began showing up...
  • Dream Land: The astral plane between dreams is called the Dreamscape, and it appears different to people. For Oona, it's a technicolored field of vegetation, sky, and make-believe creatures. She even made a cottage by a windmill to settle in sometimes.
  • Dream Walker: Her Onoma behaves like this. Though it's easier for her to activate her ability when she herself is asleep.
  • Dreams vs. Nightmares: Oona and Omen started out like this, the former fending off the latter like a traditional nemesis. But over time, Oona began to realize the monstrous cervine was more than just his appearance. And that nightmares were sometimes a necessary balance. This becomes utterly subverted when the two elope to rewrite the Child of Lightendark's fate.
  • Erotic Dream: On a few occasions, Oona has partaken in some of these as a form of healing for the dreamer distressed.
  • Everything's Better with Bubbles: Sleep bubbles, to be exact. They're very prismatic and pretty. Unless you're on the receiving end of her magic.
  • Evil Uncle: Has one in Grogar.
  • Expy: Hmm. A caprine-looking lady garbed in a robe who is also a kind and nurturing mother figure? Sounds an awful lot like Toriel from Undertale, doesn't it?
  • Fatal Flaw: Two glaring weaknesses;
-Her adverse to confrontation. Oona has terrible timing when it comes to talking with someone close to her about a serious topic. This is what ended her romantic relationship with Iclyn and almost costs her Beatrix.
-Her lack of combative magic. If an opponent can avoid falling into her bubble traps and gets close enough without the interference of a barrier, she's a sitting duck.
  • Forced Sleep: Her main (and only) combative spell.
  • Horned Humanoid: Is an anthropomorphic sheep woman, or Faun in this universe. She actually has four horns like her father, but frequently shaves two off not to draw suspicion.
  • Hypocrite: While she's a good teacher to Beatrix and offers very useful advice, Oona doesn't always practice what she preaches. For example, she scolds Beatrix for always allowing Sombra, a dark, manipulative, but well-meaning unicorn, many chances based on her attraction to him. A few stories later, Oona does the exact same thing with Omen and is notably defensive about it when Iclyn questions the morality behind it.
  • Leimotif: "Cotten Dream", a soothing harp and piano lullaby-eques theme that's later complemented by a music box. It's Sweet Dreams Fuel for the ears!
  • Magic Staff: A shepard's crook with a dream catcher embedded within the hook.
  • Missing Mom: Suffers from this trope as her mother died shortly after her birth.
  • Mystical White Hair: Mystical white wool, to be exact.
  • The Missus and the Ex: Oona clearly did not plan to have her Missus (Beatrix) meet with her Ex (Iclyn).
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: It was her banishment spell that threw Abadonna's existence into limbo when used to vanquish Zeloph. While there may not have been another way to resolve the conflict, it would have saved Beatrix the heartache of trying to find her daughter.
  • Not So Above It All: It's rather jarring to see such a cute and composed character like Oona indulge in her student's sexual habits.
  • the Paragon: This is her goal when helping troubled dreamers and lost souls. Oona not only gives people advice on how to better face their fears but also gets to the root of why they're suffering. So that the next time they have a reoccurring nightmare, they're better equipped to confront their boogieman and sleep more soundly.
  • Polyamory: Due to her student's extreme libido and fascination with other partners, Oona and Beatrix have an open relationship. And while some encounters may rub her the wrong way, she's supportive and satisfied with this ordeal without indulging it. Unless you're Omen.
  • Pregnant Badass: Stood against the Burning King and the threat of annihilation while only having Abby in her belly for a few days.
  • Red Baron: "the Dream Faun" is her primary title while "Lady Ewe" originated in Equestria.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The serene, observant, and gentle Blue to Dion's hot-blooded, impetuous, and aggressive Red. It's also their aura colors!
  • Ritual Magic: Oona conures her sleep bubbles by summoning ghost circles in the ground. She also knows a banishment spell, which she has used to defeat Varys and Zeloph.
  • Sage Love Interest: Is this for Beatrix
  • Scotireland: The land Oona is from blends Scottish and Irish mythical creatures, legends, and themes. She also speaks with a slight accent.
  • Supernaturel Gold Eyes: She's a whimsical sheep with honey-brown eyes.
  • Support Party Member: Her role in most adventures.
  • Sweet Sheep: Oona is a very sweet and considerate person with a heart as soft as her fleece.
  • Tarnishing Their Own Beauty: Oona often disregards her own attractiveness. Not that she thinks she's ugly, per se. But rather to avoid any unwanted attention that she might draw. This applies to her second pair of horns, which she shaves off monthly to avoid both discovery and headaches.
  • Team Mom: Is usually the one to keep Beatrix and her allies in check. Becomes a literal example at the end of Everywhere and Nowhere.
  • True Blue Femininity: An elegant azure sheep.
  • What Could Have Been: Had she'd continued to follow Grogar's hoofsteps, she had the potential of becoming an incredible fae sorceress, likely even more powerful than Beatrix! But this also would have likely resulted in a Face-Heel Turn, and thus became a spiritual support mage instead.
  • Weaker in the Real World: As noted before, her dream magic is only effective if she can land the hypnosis. Otherwise, Oona has no means of protecting herself outside of evasion or barriers.
  • Working with the Ex: Asked Iclyn for aid about the information on the Omega Prophecy despite their strained relationship. This extends further when the deighdyr joins her former flame in the battle with the Burning King.

This page will go through continuous edits as the stories go on. If there are any tropes you think should be added, feel free to make suggestions!
Special thanks to Midnight for helping me compose the music!

Aw! Oona looks very cute! I like how you reference Undertale's Toriel here
Does shaving her second pair of horns off hurt?
It must've been hard for Oona to deal with the stares of the peers that once humiliated her plush look who now want to 'play' with her.
And yeah, I agree that had Oona decided to go down a darker path, she would be very powerful, but it would have costed her many things that she would never know she had lost.

And you're welcome for the theme! Hope to post the next one soon!

Only if she chips too close to the roots. Think of it like trimming nails.

Ah ok. Well it's a good thing that it doesn't hurt her. She is a cute shep.

Nice to see another profile! I like her connections to mythology.
