Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

Star Overhead Volume 4 is up for preorder · 2:15am Mar 3rd, 2022

Elden Ring came out, and if you've read some of my other blogs, you might know that I have been a From fan since 09, starting my road with Demon's souls. For PS3. When it was new. Needless to say, when they gave me a breath of the wild styled Dark Souls with a map the size of Demon's Souls, Darksouls 1 through 3 and Bloodborne all put together, I knew I'd be lost for a few days at the minimum. Even now, after already logging 60 hours into the game, I'm only about half way through. For reference, my total playtime in Bloodborne is about 230 hours. I beat that game nine times for the fun of it (Twice for my Celestia playthrough and once for every other pony.) The same goes for Darksouls 1 and 2, and I beat Demon's souls about four times before the remake came out, and I beat that once as well. (DS3 has the worst replay value, don't @ me.) I don't play video games as often as I used to, but Legends Arceus and Elden Ring have more or less ignited a flame in me which, in true souls fashion, had been reduced to cinders.

That said, I'm not quite so stuck in the game anymore and am back to work. Volume 4 is still in the process of being recorded, but the book itself is pretty much done and ready to go.

You can preorder the ebook now at the link below, and the paper and audio editions will be available on Thursday, March 31st.

Star Overhead - Volume 4

I've made some progress on Volume 5 and once Volume 4 is finally recorded, I'll be back to work on that. 5 will be much more lore heavy for the world of Aria while also keeping Jacklyn as the main focus of the story. I hadn't intended on changing much between the original My Hoof and V5 when I went into this project, but I've read a lot of books recently and had some ideas on what I want to do with this series. Needless to say, Star Overhead will only be the beginning of my books set in Aria. I have two major ideas I want to pursue using this world, one of which takes place in the next ten-fifteen years of the timeline, and one that takes place nearly a hundred years after Star Overhead. They'll be very different stories, but use the same history and magic to help power their narratives. The hints of what they might be are actually already in the books that are out.

But, anyways, that's enough of that. I'll update again when Volume 4 is live at the end of the month.

186 years ago today, Texas gained its independence from Mexico. As my home state is undeniably the best state, I do love it so. The world is on fire right now, and it's a wonder how we ever lasted this long in the first place. Only time will tell if things escalate or not, but at this point, you might as well flip a coin.

At first, thing happen slowly, and then, they happen suddenly. Stay safe out there.
Until Next Time~
